Meijer is my go-to for groceries. I'll never forget going to Greenville to see the birth place of Meijer. I love meijers produce, and i enjoy that people who work there are compassionate and caring towards their customers they go out of their way to make sure their customers are satisfied. Once, I walked into meijer using my cane because I threw my leg and back out, so I was using my cane, and they offered me an amigo which was super nice of them but holding onto the cart made it easier to walk so I just used the card but I appreciate them asking if I needed one. At the end of my shopping trip, I forgot mushrooms, and instead of going all the way back, I kept checking out anx an employee took time to go get mushrooms for me. Another time, my back was hurting, and I couldn't lift the waters in the cart, and an employee helped me with my water, which I was so thankful for. They go above anx beyond for their customers and serve the community with pride. The last Meijer trio i made i took my handicap grandfather, and he had such a good time going down thd isles to grocery shop it was his first time in Meijer in like 6 years so I'm glad he had a pleasant experience. It takes a lot for him to get out of the house, and it's nice when we don't have any issues while being out. The only thing is it was pretty faces paced for my grandpa, and people kind of just kept walking past him like they didn't see him and a few times we were in the way of other customers but damn it my grandpa is disabled it's not his fault anx you never know it could just be someone's first time being out in a store in six years anc if that's thd case wouldn't you want it to be a pleasant...
Read moreTL;DR: Good management, mixed quality of employees, good groceries, hit or miss on general merchandise, and terrible return policy on electronics.
Meijer is typically very busy in town this is because the store often carries high quality groceries. There are some fantastic employees at the store, however, there are some employees who should not have jobs. Particularly I had a dark-haired, bespectacled, pale, lanky 20-something argue with me in electronics when I went to buy a Chromebook once. He was both incorrect and cocky in his interactions with me.
I also had a terrible experience with individuals working in the pet department. They were lackluster to say the least and rude and irresponsible to highlight some of their downfalls. Perhaps those individuals should be stocking or doing some other task which is more suited to their personalities... and certainly should be removed from customer service positions.
What I do appreciate in terms of staffing are the managers I've spoken with. As the managers tend to be very serious about responding to customers. However, I think they need to do better to weed out the bad eggs from the store in favor of personalities more suited to retail.
As for general merchandise, Meijer is often hit or miss on deals and offerings. Plus, they have terrible return policies on electronics. In fact, they are the worst I have ever seen in a...
Read moreThis Meijer's trip was my 1st time using it's Curbside pick up. Mt Pleasant, MI uses Shiptz employees to shop. That part of the process was good. I was given Ashley and would request her in the future if I am to ever choose to use curbside pickup again. The jury is still out on that. I spent a total of 3 calls over 30 minute holds each time just trying to get corrections on my order. My order was large and came to approx. $260., but there was a total of $25.50 in overcharge corrections. The phone staff did help and was patient as they could be but it was time consuming on both ends. Because of this experience I don't believe Meijer's when they say online shopping is treated and charged the same as in store shoppers. $25.50 is a huge amount to overcharge for a single shopping trip. Now times those mistakes by possibly 100s of customers! You be the judge. Just beware and check your online receipts and compare them to shopping list quoted prices. FYI, most regular full priced items were correct. The errors were a majority of sales ad prices. So ask yourself, isn't that why we go there,...
