Doozie’s Ice Cream Place — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

The ice cream truly is delicious and the staff is very nice. If you want a simple ice cream, this is your place. But I got a black cherry arctic freeze and was so disappointed. The cherries weren't even mixed into the ice cream and they weren't even sweet. Completely ruined the treat. It was nothing more than a cup of chocolate ice cream wth a spoonful of non-sweet cherries in a thick syrup thrown on top. I'll be going to Culver's for mixers in the future. But I do love the simple dips and cones at Doozies and I love supporting a local business.

EDIT: We went back to give the arctic swirls another try, in part because I know the team is always trying to improve and they are a great business striving to make the community happy. I got a Monster Cookie Arctic Swirl and it was mixed VERY well and is one of my favorite things ever. Also the girl who took our order was so patient as I took forever to decide which swirl I wanted because there are so many options. It's probably great. However, we stood in line for over 15 minuyes before reaching the window and discovering they only take cash. Between the 3 of us, we didn't even have enough cash for a doggie dish. Please have more than 1 small sign at the window when stating you don't take cards. We went down to the Culver's and got frozen custard instead. Edited to add, not everyone checks the internet to see if a place has special payment requirements. Perhaps a sign larger than a plaque at the window approximately the size of a sheet of legal paper would keep people from getting disappointed and/or irate from standing in line for an extended period of time before discovering you must have cash to purchase. Doozie’s is hands-down my favorite ice cream stop in Mount Pleasant! From the moment you walk up to the window, the vibe is friendly, fun, and full of summer charm. The variety is unbeatable—over 70 Arctic Swirl flavors, hand-dipped options, soft serve, and even treats for those who are lactose intolerant or diabetic.

I ordered an Brownie fudge shake and it was packed with flavor, creamy, and perfectly blended. The staff was super welcoming and patient while I browsed the huge menu. You can tell they love what they do.
