I was canning green beans and had heard that adding a zinc tablet helps to keep the color brighter (and you’re getting zinc). So I called to see if they were open and just check to see if they had what I was looking for. They did! The man and I were able to have a good laugh as he thought I was saying for tanning and I never even caught on until later. Then we started talking about my dad. I mentioned his health needs and his developing dementia. One thing he suggested was lion’s mane. To my family’s surprise my dad did not argue trying it and actually seemed eager! Now, I could’ve gone to a different health food store when I went back home to visit (4hrs away) but I am so glad I stopped in this store! I felt welcomed and not overwhelmed! I never had anything “pushed” on me! There was even another customer there at the time that seemed to enjoy this store. He too was very nice. Making me realize how relaxed and diverse the customers are! Actually, quite a few walked through the door as I was there. Everyone was greeted with friendliness. This used to be my favorite store, sadly. Since changing ownership more than once, it is different. Yes, they have supplements and better brands than big box stores. I went to their new location, as soon as I walked in, I was hit with a wave of acetone or nail polish smell. Not what I expected, They were nice enough and helpful staff, after perusing their selection of products I bought some name brand herbal lozenges which I found out after they are less than 5 dollars normally however there they were over 10 dollars here so over 100% markup! I also found a couple of brands on the sale shelf of muffin mix that were on sale at 6 dollars. Have a variety of different products. No Fufu flour or Manuka Honey, but they said that could be ordered for me, and I like that fact that you can buy as much or as little as you need with the loose herbs. The staff was friendly, I did feel as if I was bothering one of the ladies with my questions. Prices are a bit steep, but as this is a reoccurring problem in American society, I understand why.
