I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The hotel looks nice and clean. The staff members are very nice. I requested an accessible room. The room was clean and nicely decorated. However, the beds are extremely hard to get in to, and VERY firm. I don't have any idea how they they think someone with severe mobility issues could EVER get into the bed in that room. The bed was way, and I mean WAY too high. A normal bed for accessibility would allow for someone to move from a wheelchair to get into bed. BTW I am not in a wheelchair (but I have mobility issues) - if I was in a wheelchair I would have gotten into my car and left this hotel behind. I bruised my legs trying to climb into that mount everest of a bed. This bed is about one foot higher than any wheelchair. That does not work in any scenario. Standing up, the top of the bed comes up to the top of my butt. A normal bed would come up to my knees. Once a person manages to get into that bed, it is clear that every person who ever slept in that bed hugged one side of the bed. So once you finally get on top of the Everest Bed, you roll down one side and try desperately not to fall the three or four feet to the ground. You have to keep crawling uphill to get to the middle of the bed, which feels like it has a hard mteal rod runnning up the middle. But you only have one choice - sleep on that hard rod in the middle of the bed or spend the night trying to hold on so you don't fall out. The water pressure in the shower is very bad. It takes about ten minutes to get your body wet, then about twenty minutes to rinse off. Forget about washing your hair - the soap will NEVER rinse out because the water dribbles out of the shower. The hotel offers "breakfast", which I guess is an amenity if you like reconstituted egg stuff and dried out sauasage patties. If you have no choice but to stay in Mountain Grove, I guess this is your best choice. But next time I wil stay in...
Read moreThe hotel was not prepared to feed the number of guests they had. As an adult, I shy away from eggs that come from a carton. My children certainly wouldnt eat them. Our first breakfast, we asked if they had a non-pork sausage option....the breakfast attendant said they had turkey sausage but they only had one small bag. We took all they had but it wasnt enough for our family, let alone any other guests that might have needed some. We settled with each grabbing a peice of fruit that morning. The next day they had no more turkey sausage and only 3 pieces of fruit. We were told they would have to go to a grocery store to purchase more another day. Needless to say, breakfast was inadequate for the amount of guests staying there. The cleanliness of the rooms was wanting, and included the previous guest's hair in the showers and tubs. The doors between our adjoining rooms wouldn't stay open...there was no option of a latch or something to keep them from slamming shut on us. Thankfully the receptionist found a wooden door stop in the employee breakroom, but otherwise we were left to find a solution for the second door ourselves. With lots of little fingers in our family of 9, this became a concern. We finally moved one of the benches in the room to use as a door stop. This solved the smashed finger issues, but caused a lot of bruised shins and stubbed toes as we worked to maneuver around it. All in all, the staff was as helpful as they could be considering the...
Read moreThis hotel was easy to book, helpful and friendly people at the front desk both when checking in and out. They paid attention to my preference in rooms and location of the room. ( I always want on the top floor.) The type room I wanted was already booked but they put me on the next floor down. The hotel and grounds are very clean. There is good lighting outside and access doors close to the elevators. My room was enjoyable with a comfortable bed, with thoughfulness and attention to detail (adequate hangers, cool fridge, easy to operate microwave, great TV, comfortable couch and side table, bath had plenty of hot water, good water pressure and soft towels.) The breakfast area was extremely nice with lots of windows and the food was plentiful, tasty and with choices to fit anyone and everyone's needs and wants. Sleeping was better because of window coverings that kept outside lights - outside. No annoying noise from rooms next to my room or hall way. The absolute only negative was people walking heavily in the room over us. Evidently the walls have good insulation but not so good noise barier in between floors. I think one negatvie is pretty good. I would difinitely stay here again and recommend this hotel without...
