I would take that one star away too if I could. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a nail salon and I’ve been getting my nails done for multiple years. I had made an appointment for taking my acrylics off, putting gel nail colour and getting a pedicure. The person doing my pedicure was not trained, it felt like he was practicing on my feet. My nails were not cut or filed either, I had to specifically ask them to do it. Then fast forward to them taking off my acrylics, they throw my hands into a bowl of acetone rather than putting a cotton ball of acetone on each nails and wrapping foil around each nail. Acetone is extremely drying for your nails and your skin so I’m not sure why the salon thinks that’s a good idea. But if that’s their process, fine, no worries not too big a deal.
Then the woman removing my acrylics, whilst using the filing machine on my cuticles was hurting my nails, because my cuticles are really sensitive and bleed quite easily, I told her politely to just be careful with my cuticles. She mumbled something under her breath which I was confused about but I didn’t make anything off of it. Then once shes taken off the acrylics off there were remnants of the acrylics and acetone under my nails which I asked if she could clean before the gel colour. This is a BASIC part of the process when you remove acrylics. At which point she gets up and says she isn’t feeling good about this and refuses to do my nails. I kept asking what the reason was because I was so confused but she refused and said she just wasn’t feeling good. At one point I thought she was physically unwell and that’s what she meant. But I got no explanation, my nails were half done and this woman literally refused service and no explanation whatsoever when I kept asking why. I asked them if they could at least soften my nail bed before I leave because it was buffed and ready to have gel nail on, they refused again. I had better hopes from this salon and thought I was paying for a premium service. There is no such thing as customer service at this place. I should not have been made to walk out of that salon after paying almost $60 with rough half nails done and a ridiculous pedicure. Read moreI bought a gift card for my mom from here a year and a half ago and today my mom went to use the gift card. She had it in the envelope and with the receipt. They said that what she had was not the gift card, it was only a business card, (which i honestly don't know if it was or not i unfortunately dont remember what they gave me being that it was such a long time ago). HOWEVER, they were able to pull up the receipt and SEE that the credit has NEVER been used in a year and a half and yet they wouldn't put the credit towards my moms pedicure. If they were unable to pull up the credit I could understand them not being able to verify if it had been used or not but the fact that they can pull up the credit shows that they would be able to use it towards this pedicure and make the future credit void. The fact that all she had was a business card where THEY wrote 40$ on the outside of the envelope was very odd because I do not see myself grabbing one of their cards and sticking it into the gift card envelope in the first place. They said that they have always used plastic cards but unless they changed cards I don't recognize it all. My mom had been really happy with the service and wanted to start going there more often but now she won't and I will for sure not go here now either. Working with the public, I'll make sure people are aware of how this situation went. My mom ended up having to pay for the pedicure I already paid for but it was really the principal of the whole thing. They could have taken care of this for her but instead chose poor...
Read moreI have been to this salon a few times before & the results were good though pricey for Muncie. I was unable to use my previous tech due to scheduling & sought advice on better options that lasted longer due to my travel schedule a few weeks ago. A GelX option was offered so I tried this. I waited for 45 minutes, only to learn that because I had mentioned that I may need a few acrylic extensions to be removed, they had added 30 minutes to my appointment. I had taken them off myself the evening before because there only three! My fault for not asking but I also think they should have told me this in advance. My bigger issue was that one of my nails came off that same night & I had a late afternoon appointment. I called right after they opened the following morning & they told me I had to wait until late afternoon to see the same tech. This was not convenient for me but we were traveling out of state on Sat (original appt was on Thurs so I had hoped to pop in on Fri morning, not afternoon). I took it & it was repaired. Over the weekend, I lost 2 more but was already out of town. I did call to try to talk to the manager but was never able to get through.
