The lack of intelligence at this location is high. I tried to use dollar general cash back at this store today and neither the cashier or manager knew how to use it. The manager and cashier both argued that the dollar generalncash back doesn't work and that you have to pay for the cash back and that's how it works. That doesn't make sense. If I earned $2 cash back from a previous purchase my total should be $2 less when o use it not $2 higher. There was no convincing either of them. I even read the instructions from the app on how to use the dollar general cash back. I finally convinved them to hit total and then try to scan it (like the app says in the instructions) and that worked to take the cash back off. ๐ It's just laughable that the manager has no clue how to do something that should be a normal operation. It's their system and their app. And the app had plain instructions. I don't like how they always have the self check outs closed and will only open them on a customer by customer basis and they immediately lock after 1 customer uses them. What was the point of having the self check out machines installed. Also this is the 1 store I would like to use the self check out so I don't have to argue with staff about how to checkout. The manager could be nicer, she's always in an awful mood when I come in and gets nasty with customers. I can't imagine she enjoys her job but she could fake it a little better. She might find more happiness in her daily life if she tried to retrain her brain to be in a more positive mood. There's just not a point to being miserable and hateful to everyone. ย ย ย Read moreIf I can give negative stars I would. I arrived to the store at 2pm bc it was put out to the community that this store is closing at 3 due to bad weather. At 2pm this sign was on the doors, lights are on, employees are inside but they have the doors locked. I personally witnessed several customers (maybe 20 or more) approach read the signs but left confused, upset, and disappointed due to the sign saying closed at 3pm and its 2pm. I stayed in front of the store until about 2:22pm during the call to DG Customer Service to report this and during this call I witnessed even more customers being turned away. The operation of this location is appalling and I definitely will be following back up with the district mgr about this. But also to shed light on the fact while customers are inside the cashier is outside smoking, store is a mess along with empty shelves but with product unboxed along the isles. How is this store operating while being in compliance with their own policy & regulations? The answer is obvious....its not....this is not acceptable and is a grossly blatant failure upon management and as a consumer I demand answers pertaining to location at 2984 S Church St....

She & the young black boy who I guess is Clarens, told me my card was declined, after I had thought the transaction though cause on my side it showed $23.55, so I had already handed her a $20 dollar bill & 55 cents, & went to leave cause she just looked at me. I was going out door & she says ma'am u need to pay it didn't go through. She needs to learn how to speak up & be clear instead of waitung until somebody is waking out the door. I left my phone at home, so when I got home I called & checked my balance & it most certainly had money on it. That was a lie & I don't appreciate them lying about it. The self check out was broke yet no sign up. This store is garbage, it's always a mess & the parking lot is disgusting cause none of the employees clean it! The employee turn over is constant! I tried calling the store after getting home & it was busy of course. The 2 times I have had a problem, the phone is always busy! Will not be back! The other store on South Church is always closed.
