If you’re reading this prior to booking an appointment, please read the reviews. When a business receives the same sort of criticisms over the course of years, over and over, it’s because what’s being said is true. I wish I’d done further research before dropping money at this place but oh well, lesson learned. For starters, this place operates under two different names: A New Day Spa AND Spa Holiday. All things considered, I can’t help but wonder if the different names is an attempt to offset the impact of the scathing reviews - specifically in reference to Groupon. On Groupon, A New Day is called Spa Holiday. I really do think this is so people won’t see the negative reviews before purchasing.
The place itself looks sketchy and dumpy. The vibes are…not great. It’s pretty run down and smelled weird inside. But hey, whatever, I thought maybe this was a super new location and perhaps they were doing work to the building. Anyway, the vibes. Just strange. The lady working the front was loudly talking trash on other customers, including one for having to cancel. She then went around essentially begging each person to book a last minute massage to make up for this other person’s cancellation. I just found it to be kind of weird, off-putting behavior. It seemed desperate. Another employee then started loudly discussing with the other front desk lady how I hadn’t checked in yet or something and I had to convince them that yes, I did indeed check in, a whopping 5 minutes ago. It was kind of concerning - I’m standing right there, did they just not notice me at all or remember the events that had JUST happened? I went back for my Botox appt, something I’ve done at many other places, and had a not so great experience there too. The injector was nice but for the first time EVER, each prick actively caused pain and she went in areas that aren’t where I’ve had it injected every single other time I’ve gotten it. Also, I will include that the results weren’t at all what I’m used to. It’s not that it did NOTHING, but 1000% not what it usually looks like. Other people have speculated the product is watered down and while that might sound paranoid, I honestly think it could be true. When I was leaving, I was told by the front desk lady, “you only get to use Groupon once,” which was a strange and unnecessary comment bc a) I know that and b) why would you be going out of your way to tell me that? Then, as countless others have mentioned in their reviews, the super unprofessional tipping part came. Look, I worked in the service industry for a long time. I am by NO MEANS someone who moans and groans about tipping. HOWEVER - no, it’s not standard practice to tip for Botox. It’s just not. But I did anyway bc of how awkward it was. Now that I’m reading others’ reviews, I realized the Venmo account the front desk lady directed me to was HER OWN, not even the injector! Sketchy sketchy sketchy. Go somewhere else, trust me.
One last thing: I seriously think at least a somewhat significant portion of the glowing reviews are fake, paid off, or written by bots. The verbiage used over and over is bizarre and not how people speak BUT is definitely...
Read moreI honestly am not one to leave a review, but I feel I MUST warn everyone about this place. I have received massages for years, but this was hands down the worst I've ever had. My wife feels the same way. We got the couples massage via the Groupon. Our appointment was at 5PM on a Saturday. Knowing they always make you fill out a clipboard of info, we showed up at 4:45PM on the dot. We were brought to the back waiting room which is connected to 3 massage rooms. We were given 2 chocolate covered strawberries and two glasses of strawberry 7 Up. It was our 5 year anniversary so we were having a good time chatting, but eventually we started to notice that time was going by more and more. We saw workers walking past us and never at any time thought they might not know we are actually there, but by 5:20 (35 minutes after arriving and waiting), I got up and went to the front and said "Um....we've been waiting back here for 35 minutes." They all acted surprised and tried to make jokes to make up for the fact that they forgot about us. The ladies in the front clearly saw us walk in and acknowledged us, but for some reason forgot about us. We were able to start our massage right after that and I am sad to say that everything up until this point was not the worst. Both my wife and I each had terrible massages. I'm not saying terrible like they didn't hit points we had hoped they hit. We are SEVERELY bruised today in many parts of our bodies. My shoulders, back, shins, and calves are aching today and my shins and calves actually have visible bruising on them. My wife has bruising on her thighs. It's not like we didn't tell the massage therapists what pressure we wanted. At different times we each said "A lot less pressure please", but they kept going at about the same pressure. We both individually thought when they did this "Well that's ok. I can handle a deep tissue massage". But this wasn't deep tissue. This was pushing hard on areas of the body that do not hold muscles and here knots are not located. Like literally my massage therapist spend 7-8 minutes in a DEEP massage on my spine. MY SPINE! Like the Dura matter. Why on earth would this be a place to massage??? They definitely were not trained well enough and the front desk lady even said before we began "These are our two best therapists".
When we got done, we both looked at each other with painful looks on our faces. I was in pain the rest of the day, but had hope that maybe by the next day it would feel better because that's usually how a deep tissue massage goes. Nope. I'm aching like crazy today. My back KILLS! My wife has been popping advil all day.
When we got done, the lady up front gave us a "VIP" card for a $79 couples massage in the future, but this is like more than the groupon we could easily just get again. I hated this and felt it was not even close to making up for the wasted 35 minutes.
But again, overall I think there needs to be some education enhancements because I am reading other reviews and hearing the bruising has happened to others before us.
Don't go to A...

I called to book an appointment for a massage with A New Day Spa and because I was booking in advance I knew there may be a possibility that I would need to cancel the appointment. I specifically asked the woman who was scheduling my appointment what their cancelation policy was. I was informed that in order to cancel my appointment it would require 24 hours notice with a live person. I repeated this information to the woman on the phone and she confirmed that I was correct in my understanding. I then went ahead, Scheduled the appointment and allowed them to run my credit card to hold my appointment slot. By Monday morning I had made other accommodations for my care with another provider and called A New Day Spa to cancel my appointment that was scheduled for Thursday ( 3 days notice, 2 more that the required 24 hours) per the information I was given when I scheduled it. I was told that they do not allow cancellations, they will only reschedule my appointment. I explained, that is not the information I was given and I was not wanting to reschedule my appointment. I was told that the owner would contact me on Tuesday and I could talk to her. I confirmed they had my proper number on file and waited for a call back. I never received that call. Today I called and asked if I could speak to the manager. When she answered, she quickly asked if I was the one she spoke to the other day and I though maybe yes, she was the one who scheduled me so I said yes. She proceeded to go into detail about another clients less that desirable experience at her place of establishment and I had to cut her off, and let her know that I was not the person she thought I was. She quickly calmed down and said, Oh, How can I help you? I explained why I was calling and she said with an upset tone, "No, We never offer cancellations or refunds" I explained that was not the information I was given, and before I could even finish talking she rudely interrupted me and said that she would give me a refund if I never returned to her establishment again. I explained that I was a little shocked by her reaction as I have been there before and never treated this poorly. She cut me off again and stated that this has also been a bad experience for her. ????? A bad experience for her? having to speak with someone and clarify a misunderstanding? At this point I was not happy at all with my interaction with the owner of the establishment and each time I tried to say something she would cut me off and speak over me. I ended up hanging up the phone. I use to recommend A New Day Spa to anyone looking for a place to get a massage and after this horrible interaction and complete inappropriate treatment from the owner not only will I not go back to this place, I will never recommend anyone go...
