Like any good tale, there were moments of minor challenge — a wait here, a few words that could be friendlier there, perhaps a broader selection, and yes, maybe a price here and there that could be a bit lower. But within this enchanted shop, treasures were found that could not be unearthed at the grand castles of Home Depot or Lowe’s. The elusive tiny screws, the specialty parts, the things you thought you’d never find — all appeared like magic at Ace. And then, there was the service. Ah, the service. In the land of large stores, where employees are often as rare as a unicorn, Ace stood as a beacon of kindness. More often than not, someone was ready to assist, and a friendly face would guide you with care.

Take, for example, the day I set out to buy a smoker, my second grill purchase here, actually. The journey was as smooth as a fairy tale. Though it wasn't in stock, the kind folks at Ace promised to order it, and just as foretold, it arrived on time. They assembled it for free, delivered it without an extra charge, and when the delivery driver arrived, we shared a delightful conversation, just like neighbors chatting over the fence. The warmth and kindness felt almost too good to be true — but it was, indeed, as genuine as the day is long.

I don’t purchase everything here, no. But in this world of giants, Ace has carved out a special place, where care, service, and thoughtful attention make all the difference. I came to the Carolina Forest Ace Hardware to see if I could possibly salvage my favorite knife, which had a real nasty pit in the blade, because I was honestly planning on trashing it and getting a new one since I didn’t think it was restorable. I showed up and an associate named Britt, helped me out by running it through the Resharp machine but the pit was still deep in there, I was ready to just pay and leave since it didn’t work but he insisted bringing it over to another associate, Mike, to take a look at see if they could solve my problem since it was a pretty expensive knife that I held a personal sentiment to. The two of them worked together to find a solution, with honestly some of the best quality teamwork I’ve seen at a retail hardware store. So Mike took the knife out back to grind and sharpen down the divot without risking pushing up the edge, and when he brought it back, I was genuinely amazed…it looked incredible.

What impressed me the most wasn’t just the craftsmanship, but the effort and care these guys put into helping me. They could have easily said nothing more could be done, and I would’ve agreed with them and paid, but instead they treated it like their own problem and went above and beyond to make sure I left satisfied, and that’s a kind of honesty, respect, and dedication that is truly rare these days, and I wholeheartedly appreciate that.

Not only was it quick, but the price was incredible. I would have seriously paid double for the customer service, quality, and effort they provided me. The guys at this Ace truly care about their work and their customers, and it really shows. I’ll definitely be coming back to this specific Ace Hardware for any knife or hardware needs, and they’ve absolutely earned my trust and...
