We have been long time fans of the original GOAT in the Inlet and we're so happy when one opened a little closer to home. This past visit however was the WORSE experience ever and honestly not what the owners of the GOAT would want with this location. The two female blonde bartenders were too interested in eating their own food and hanging out with their own group of friends in the back booth by the kitchen to properly take care of the customers. Kitchen staff was coming out grabbing alcoholic drinks from the cooler and honestly it was more like a free for all with no Management. The owner should watch his cameras from Friday night to see that his bartenders sat more in the back table and ate than help customers and see his kitchen staff drinking while on the job. This was honestly like something you would see on Bar Rescue. Employees who just don't care. We will only be visiting the original GOAT from now on since this one is obviously not being managed. I'm sure if it keeps going this way with these type of employees it won't last long. That is a shame since they do have great food and normally known for their fantastic service. We were so disappointed. I really hope this...
Read moreI have only been in the evenings and at night. They are usually pretty busy and have been the only bar open on holidays, including NYE. The servers and bartenders are great. Bailey and Savannah are Awesome. ( I hope I spelled their names correctly.) They have a ton of TVs, and they've been great at finding the game/match that we wanted to see and putting it on a TV near us. My Favorite (because I'm not into sports much) is the one TV that they always keep on PawsTV, which is non-stop animal videos and bloopers. It's fun to watch when Hubby is cheering on his team. I can't remember what I've eaten, but I've had several meals there. Most are above average. Some were just good. Nothing has been bad at all. They do have live bands. Tge temperature is usually pretty cool/chilly, so bring an extra layer. (I bought one of their sweatshirts in July because I was so darn cold, but it's now my favorite hoodie, and it was only $30.) This is not the place for conversation after 7:30pm, as it gets pretty loud. They have great music and also have TouchTunes, so you can be your own DJ. All-in-All, it's one of my top 3 bars (out of the dozen+ I've tried) to eat at in the Carolina...
Read moreWith the success of The Goat in Murrells Inlet, owners and friends Tom and Shannon decided to open a second location in 2024. Located in Carolina Forest in Forest Square, The Goat offers traditional bar food with an upscale twist. Besides the standard fare of burgers, sandwiches, tacos, nachos, appetizers, salads and featured entrees one can feast their fancy on a bulgogi burger, harumaki and tuna tataki and sweet chili shrimp. Full service bar has you covered with speciality drinks, cocktails, wine and cold beer. Open floor plan with bar and booths lining the walls claim one half and the other half dining with padded booths and table and chairs. A plethora of flat screen TVs and sports memorabilia lined the walls. I ordered the Classic Reuben with beer braised corned beef, not sliced, that is thicker, more flavorful, and fattier in nature, better for slow cooking and shredded into chunks. Topped with sauerkraut, swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing served on toasted rye bread and served with House cut fries. Food was good and...
