Famous Toastery Carolina Forest — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

We have been going to the Famous Toastery for a while and I do enjoy the Avocado toast however we were there this morning for breakfast Tara came and took our order she was serving another table right next to us and we overheard another waitress telling her there is no Avocado and she needs to let let them know to order something else. After a few minutes wait another waitress came to our table and asked if we ordered the Avocado and toast I replied yes she then proceed to say they were out of Avocado and what would I like I said I would have an omelette with spinach mushrooms and onions she then asked what toast do I want offered wheat rye or white I asked if “do you have multigrain bread” she replied yes but it’s gluten free I then said I liked the the toast that comes with the Avocado she replied okay but it’s gluten free I said okay I will have that. She then offered a side I said I will have the fruit. The omelette came without the toast and fruit. Halfway eating my omelette the toast came and it was was burnt on one side and over done on the other but presented to me with burnt side down, I took a bite of it and was disgusting and horrible and it was not multigrain. I asked for it to be taken back and requested the wheat toast however Tara finally came over and and asked if everything was okay and I said no I finished my omelette and I have no toast and fruit a few mins later she came with the toast, I questioned her about the different types of bread they had and she looked very overwhelmed picked up our bill still holding the toast in the other hand and was about to walk off I then said can I have my toast she placed the toast on the table a few mins later another waitress came and put the bill down and said we took 50% off!! no one addressed the issues. The 50% is not important to us we went to have breakfast and the people that works there should be knowledgeable, provide a service and able to answer simple questions. However we left there without the fruits it was not brought to the table and this has happened many times before! We were very disappointed with service...

Went here for the 1st time on Wednesday July 9th 2025 with my parents and some family members who were on vacation. This was our first time trying this place, as we don't go out to breakfast that much- but was willing to try, especially after looking over their online menu. Since this is in a shopping center, there is parking. Don't be fooled by the small look outside of the place, because the inside is really big and nice, and even has an outdoor seating area too! This place serves both breakfast and lunch all day that they are open. We walked in and was greeted by a host. The host set up our table as we were a large party of 9. We were seated shortly after the table setup, which didn't take long at all. We sat down, and looked at the menus. Chelsea, and a server who was training took care of us, and was polite and pleasant. We started with 3 waters, and 3 coffees. We then looked over the menu while the others came. When the others came the server reintroduced herself, and took their orders- which consisted of orange juice, coffees, iced coffee, and chocolate milk. Server also did a good job of refilling both the waters and the coffees. For breakfast, I ordered the chocolate chip flapjacks with a side of beyond sausage, my mom ordered the blah blah omlet withcheese and spinach, with beyond sausage, My dad got french toast stuffed with blueberries. Some people in my party got the western omlet, some kid meals, and another blah blah omlet. Oh, and server did a great job answering our questions like if the blueberries were inside the french toast. food came out in a timely manner. I enjoyed and devoured my chocolate chip flapjacks and loved the beyond sausage patties! Especially liked that the chocolate chips were inside the pancake! Other people enjoyed theirs too! Horrible experience with staff. Came in yesterday afternoon for my best friends birthday and the service there was very disappointing. Our initial server explained to us that multiple of them would be there to assist us during our time there but only the on dropped off our waters, never came back with my friends mimosas, not one server tried to take our order, and when one did it was only because we accidentally finally grab the managers attention so she grab one for us. We had been waiting to be served for at least 20 minutes while watching others that came in after us be attended to. Mind you it was a slow shift with at least 4-5 servers working. We finally got our food to not have to reorder the mimosas but wait 30 mins to have to grab the manager again because we noticed a table that came in after us get their receipt and check in half the time we had been waiting for someone to check on us. The manager had to print out our receipt but printed it out incorrectly because we told the server we needed 3 separate checks. The manager had me go out of my way to go up to the screen and separate them myself. As someone who works in the restaurant business and has been for 6 years, i know that was not the way to handle the situation. It should not be the customers job to be doing what the servers are there to get paid for. We still left a tip but we would of left so much more if they would of done the minimum of just checking on us. Very disappointing e experience.
