This is a nice looking bar restaurant with a locals vibe but the table was a bit sticky and the menu was oddly weird to hold. My experience with the food wasn’t as great either. My ginger salad had about a 1/4 cup of ginger juice at the bottom and looked as if the iceberg lettuce was swimming in the juice. I took a couple bites but I was unable to finish it. The gyoza filling lacked any taste, didn’t have crunch and the sauce tasted like soy sauce with extra salt. I was more hopeful for the Nigiri but the plate edges were greasy, didn’t look appealing, the roll wasn’t rolled properly and the rice looked like the kind of rice left over in the rice cooker overnight. The waitress assured me the rice was made fresh every morning but it ‘probably had that color because of all the butter they put in the rice.’ While the menu says the fish is from the finest cuts I felt uncertain of this as the fish in the badly made roll had stained the rice red. The team refunded my money for the Nigiri Deluxe and I simply paid for the Gyoza and the *kinda* hot sake. Now, this is my experience and perhaps it won’t be others or those that were before me but I’ll definitely pass on this place in the future.

Very disappointed, took fiance' here for our anniversary and we ordered salads, crab wontons, Volcano Roll, Daddys girl and Shrimp Tempura roll. We've been coming here for years off and on and NEVER have we been so unimpressed with the sushi. The Volcano Roll was good as usual but the other 2 were straight out of a gas station cooler. I dont know if our rolls were sent wrong or what but we've had these many times before and they were fantastic ( as you would expect from King Kong) These had no visible sauce, the rice didn't look fresh, they were super small and just lacking overall.I asked the waitress if this was our order because they looked like bottom of the barrel rolls, she seemed unsure. She then said that these were " simple ones" , I guess meaning they should look bland? We've had these many times.. something was off. The pic shows where we put eel sauce to add some flavor but still very bland. Again, really love this place and ive eaten here many many times but very disappointed this time in the quality. This was just last night, August 16th 2024, Carolina Forest location .

Hopped in the car soon as we found out it reopened and moved a couple buildings down. First off the new building is much bigger and very open with majority high top tables and some booths on the side. The sushi was amazing! Much better then the other location at the boardwalk. Every roll was great, and the fish tasted fresh as always. The appetizers were good as well with the tempura being light and flakey and the wontons being more fried and crunchy (preference). The only thing I can't say I 100% have facts on but it seems the price did go up some, although we stuck mainly to the specialty rolls which cost more. If you are doing sushi the price should be expected, and they have little daily specials that can save you some money like "purchase 3 special rolls get a regular maki roll free". Service was friendly, very fast and great conversation, can't recommend enough. Glad to have the best sushi place in the area back up and running!

Food was well prepared and presentation was spot on. Restroom was clean and organized. The service seemed very rushed at the table when he was around. I have some dietary restrictions so I try to find menus that will be fairly simple for the back of the house to accommodate like no salt. Edamame must be hot hold. I say this since when brought to the table no salt was on top but salt water was in the husk. When you don't eat or season anything with any salt you can be absolutely sure it will be tasted. And definitely not a pleasure to taste. For myself I ordered one roll that had no sauce to avoid the very high sodium content in soy and Teriyaki sauce staples to sushi sauces. I also order a cucumber roll with no ponzu and a side of rice wine vinegar knowing it would go great with the cucumber roll. I did not not receive the rice wine. Another staple for sushi sauces. When I asked for it again the server went to the back. When he returned empty handed he said "the chef said it was already prepared into you items and we don't give out sides.". Well that is quite a pickle. Pun intended. It would lead one to believe a few things especially after the edamame. 1 the Boh manager or Chef has no real care for dietary needs or customer service. If this is true beware of dietary needs and and food allergies here. The atmosphere in the Boh comes from the top down. 2 all dressing and sauces here are pre packaged and they have no vinegar in stock. I have dined here numerous times over before my dietary restrictions And though they were a cut above the competition in the area. I know it was just one example of a not so great experience. But dietary restrictions are very serious! It could be life or death for many. So even if you are having a bad day on the line in the heat it is no real excuse for not getting it done right. Sooner or later someone will be hurt. I don't eat out much anymore but you could bet a dollar bill I have no...

I have eaten here for 15 years. We get take out every week or so and have done so literally 40-50x a year with take out orders that are usually about $150 each meal. The food is always good and we pick up our order from the bar. Sarah has been an amazing bartender and server for years. I always tip even though I am just picking up food placed in a bag. Recently, they have a policy that charges 18% on any take out order over $100. The last two times I have been there I was automatically charged 18% to my bill without asking. I paid $28.44 service fee tonight on a $158 bill and thats before tax. My total bill was over $200. I completely agree that you should not pick up a takeout order without leaving a reasonable tip. However, to pay $28-$29 to pick up my meal when I wash my dishes, I refill my drink, I clean up the table, and I drive there to get my food is simply ridiculous. I am told this is the new policy. Based on that I will not be going back. I routinely tip 20-25% for my meals when I eat at a restaurant and even give 18% when it's a disaster because I respect what the servers deal with. Keep in mind if I spend $95 I don't get an automatic charge of 18% but if I spend %150 I pay over $25 regardless if the order is correct etc. Very bad management decision for what has always been the #1 staple carryout dinner in my family since I moved to Myrtle Beach in 2010. I have moved on to other...

Terribly rude customer service. Overpriced for nothing. Will never be coming back to THIS King Kong sushi, the one at broadway at the beach is great. I wish I could give less stars. (side note in response to the managers response- I ordered 3 shots and a drink BEFORE happy hour ended. Well the waitress made them THEN rung them in and was OVERCHARGED close to $20. Well $20 is $20 so when I asked about it, the waitress said she wasn't able to do anything about it so I asked if somebody else could and she sent the manager. The manager said HE couldn't do anything about it either but he understood. I would’ve HAPPILY paid THE CORRECT PRICE. Hell yeah I lied about not having the $20 BECAUSE I'M NOT PAYING FOR IT. If a child says they understand a math problem but doesn't fix their answer when you give them the same math problem, they obviously don't understand it, so you make it so they can. Plain and simple. If the prices would have simply been fixed with an open food or open drink charge for the right price, even a couple dollars over would have been FINE but $20? Nope. I'm not sorry at all due to their incompetence. Thanks for trying to call me out but ask anybody else & I’m sure they wouldn’t want to throw away $20 either due to someone else’s...
