Food was well prepared and presentation was spot on. Restroom was clean and organized. The service seemed very rushed at the table when he was around. I have some dietary restrictions so I try to find menus that will be fairly simple for the back of the house to accommodate like no salt. Edamame must be hot hold. I say this since when brought to the table no salt was on top but salt water was in the husk. When you don't eat or season anything with any salt you can be absolutely sure it will be tasted. And definitely not a pleasure to taste. For myself I ordered one roll that had no sauce to avoid the very high sodium content in soy and Teriyaki sauce staples to sushi sauces. I also order a cucumber roll with no ponzu and a side of rice wine vinegar knowing it would go great with the cucumber roll. I did not not receive the rice wine. Another staple for sushi sauces. When I asked for it again the server went to the back. When he returned empty handed he said "the chef said it was already prepared into you items and we don't give out sides.". Well that is quite a pickle. Pun intended. It would lead one to believe a few things especially after the edamame. 1 the Boh manager or Chef has no real care for dietary needs or customer service. If this is true beware of dietary needs and and food allergies here. The atmosphere in the Boh comes from the top down. 2 all dressing and sauces here are pre packaged and they have no vinegar in stock. I have dined here numerous times over before my dietary restrictions And though they were a cut above the competition in the area. I know it was just one example of a not so great experience. But dietary restrictions are very serious! It could be life or death for many. So even if you are having a bad day on the line in the heat it is no real excuse for not getting it done right. Sooner or later someone will be hurt. I don't eat out much anymore but you could bet a dollar bill I have no...
Read moreI have eaten here for 15 years. We get take out every week or so and have done so literally 40-50x a year with take out orders that are usually about $150 each meal. The food is always good and we pick up our order from the bar. Sarah has been an amazing bartender and server for years. I always tip even though I am just picking up food placed in a bag. Recently, they have a policy that charges 18% on any take out order over $100. The last two times I have been there I was automatically charged 18% to my bill without asking. I paid $28.44 service fee tonight on a $158 bill and thats before tax. My total bill was over $200. I completely agree that you should not pick up a takeout order without leaving a reasonable tip. However, to pay $28-$29 to pick up my meal when I wash my dishes, I refill my drink, I clean up the table, and I drive there to get my food is simply ridiculous. I am told this is the new policy. Based on that I will not be going back. I routinely tip 20-25% for my meals when I eat at a restaurant and even give 18% when it's a disaster because I respect what the servers deal with. Keep in mind if I spend $95 I don't get an automatic charge of 18% but if I spend %150 I pay over $25 regardless if the order is correct etc. Very bad management decision for what has always been the #1 staple carryout dinner in my family since I moved to Myrtle Beach in 2010. I have moved on to other...
Read moreTerribly rude customer service. Overpriced for nothing. Will never be coming back to THIS King Kong sushi, the one at broadway at the beach is great. I wish I could give less stars. (side note in response to the managers response- I ordered 3 shots and a drink BEFORE happy hour ended. Well the waitress made them THEN rung them in and was OVERCHARGED close to $20. Well $20 is $20 so when I asked about it, the waitress said she wasn't able to do anything about it so I asked if somebody else could and she sent the manager. The manager said HE couldn't do anything about it either but he understood. I would’ve HAPPILY paid THE CORRECT PRICE. Hell yeah I lied about not having the $20 BECAUSE I'M NOT PAYING FOR IT. If a child says they understand a math problem but doesn't fix their answer when you give them the same math problem, they obviously don't understand it, so you make it so they can. Plain and simple. If the prices would have simply been fixed with an open food or open drink charge for the right price, even a couple dollars over would have been FINE but $20? Nope. I'm not sorry at all due to their incompetence. Thanks for trying to call me out but ask anybody else & I’m sure they wouldn’t want to throw away $20 either due to someone else’s...
