I don’t even know where to begin…advantage dental in Coos County is 90% a joke. Myrtle Point however takes the cake. Today makes the 5th time I’ve had my appointment up and rescheduled for whatever new reason for the new month. Aside from last week, where my ride got canceled on me, I was 10 minutes late, but called to let them know I was running late, it’s never been on me. Even when I called to tell them I was running a few behind, I was told it was no biggie as the caregiver was also running behind for the day, but try and only be 10 minutes late and I was. It’s an hour drive for us, one way, to get to this office.
The front desk staff and office manager redefines the term Karen. Power trip hungry people with little authority to match their position. Then to get belittled and reminded how low you are in terms of others by the insurance I’m on. Additionally, the constant reminder that I am not alone nor am I special, others have been waiting months to a year as well. I’ve been waiting since December and my original surgery was scheduled for March and we’ve had to push it back from then to April, and now to May.
Overall, unreliable, unprofessional, uncoordinated, and genuinely rude office staff.

Truth be told I rather hate getting dental work done (as I am sure many of us do). I want to get it done as quickly as possible. Dr. O’Hara was filling in at my local Advantage in Gold Beach for my first appointment I had with him. He finished my filling so quickly I knew it was worth the drive (also no dentists in Gold Beach anymore) to Myrtle Point. Sure it was a 90 min drive, but he filled four teeth in 30 minutes!
His assistant is really nice too, I got the jitters from being numbed up and she got me water and chocolate.😊
Also my fillings look great, I can’t even tell my real tooth from the filling. 🤩
Highly...
Read moreDr O'Hara in myrtle point is amazing. My family loves him. The only problem is you can't get into have your teeth worked on for months if you need a filling. It's not that they don't want to get you in for the procedure, their is just is so many people on advantage dental and they are obligations to do so many new patients exams in a year. So many people with diabetes, so many children exams, then they move on to adult's with no problems. Plus they do not have enough dentists or hygienist for the large number of patients on oregon health plan so be...
