Sending a huge shout out and thank you to Ben, who fulfilled an unrealistic fantasy. He greeted us by sharing that he is a graduate from the Coast Guard, immediately putting all of the adults who have never done this at ease. He was able to give tips to a 47 year old wishing to revisit his teens and share this nostalgic experience with his upcoming teenager.

Ben gave tips regarding angles, edges, distance, and speed, which immediately led to improvement and a more satisfactory experience for the full spectrum-ranging from the novices to the most experienced member on the boat.

In addition to maintaining awareness of those he was pulling, he was also constantly aware of the condition of the water and the boat traffic around us. There were several times in which he raced up to protect someone who was in the water from other boat traffic. It was like witnessing someone with a superpower of being fully mindful and alert.

While juggling this high level of attentiveness he also engaged in friendly banter as he provided encouragement, support, and humor. He understands the value of just giving 1-2 things to work on at a time. He knows how to build up a 12 year old boy who needs confidence and how to encourage another 12 year old boy who needs to scale things back a bit. This place hooks it UP! We went out for an amazing day on the lake with Ben, who was born for this job. He was a great teacher for those of us who didn't have much experience, he was fun to hang with, and he was great at his job drivin the boat for the various sports we did. We were a group of 8 and all took turns doing waterskiing, wake surfing, and tubing. Sound system on the boat made for a great time through bluetooth, and we had the perfect day for it too which of course didn't hurt.
