5 stars, but itâs complicated.
I really do love Dose. The staff is always friendly, the vibe is great, and the drinks and food are genuinely awesome. But itâs kind of a love-hate relationship at this point.
We first stumbled upon Dose last year while driving along the Causeway, and it instantly became a family favorite. My fiancĂ©e and kids fell in love with the Flamingo smoothie, Bali Bowl, and Kids Coffee! Weâd stop by oftenâmy kids even started calling it âthe kids coffee placeâ because of their cute little drinks.
But then⊠the Flamingo disappeared.
It started late last summer. Weâd go in and be told it was out of stock. Fair enoughâwe figured it was popular. But itâs now 2025, and it still hasnât made a comeback. The other day, I stopped by and found out they were out of both the Flamingo and a few other key smoothies. And this isnât a one-time thing. Sometimes theyâre out of sourdough bagels entirely. Even grabbing a smoothie feels like playing menu rouletteâwhatâll they have today?
I want to be a regular. I try to be a regular. But itâs hard to keep showing up when I canât count on the items being there. Listen, listen, I know. Who am I to expect or demand anything from a cute little smoothie shop? I still love the place, I just want to love it MORE.
THIS morning I went in to grab a few bagelsâthey were out. My fiancĂ©e sent me back in for a Bali Bowlâalso out (they told me they're waiting for a shipment, which is fair. Credit where credit is due). I didnât even bother asking about the Flamingo.
All that said: go visit Dose. They are great. And if you happen to walk in on a day when they do have the Flamingo? Order it fastâthereâs no telling if itâll be there tomorrow.
Every time we go in, even if they're out of items, we still buy coffee (the best!). But seriously⊠if the Flamingoâs never coming back, please just take it off the menu. My heart canât take the...
Read moreI have been coming to this place a few times in the last week and it has been decent until today. First I tried ordering a plain bagel w veggie cream cheese but they ran out. Then I tried everything bagel and they were out of those too. The only thing saving this review from 1 star is this veggie cream cheese. I resorted to the blueberry bagel with veggie cream cheese only to be told 5 minutes later while I was waiting, that the veggie cream cheese is still frozen. They were open for over a half hour yet it was frozen and didnât wait to tell me until after I had paid the $6. I ended up getting the blueberry bagel with plain cream cheese and it was mushy dough. My friends had gotten straight milk after ordering and paying for a $7 chai latte. You couldnât see or taste the chai and when they asked to add more chai the girl making the drinks responded with a defensive and snappy tone. Communication behind the counter is clearly lacking and these mistakes could have been easily prevented if they were more organized. There is a lot of potential in this town for a successful coffee shop so I do hope they figure out...
Read moreI was so stoked to check out the new local smoothie bar in town. I was severely disappointed. The environment when ordering was ⊠awkward. The front desk worker was short and not friendly whatsoever while the girl making the smoothies matched her energy with a similar one that lacked customer service. The person in front of me who ordered stood there waiting while the cashier awkwardly stood there and then messed on her phone a bit instead of directing the customer to the pick up spot and continuing to take my order. It was also âpre made açaĂâ and you didnât have the option to add in protein or collagen - what?! Weird, but still gave it a shot. It was mediocre at best, though the presentation of the bowl was nice. Wouldnât give it another go just due to the horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. Not worth the $30 for two açaĂ bowls with no customization offers. Would highly highly highly suggest nectar of Maine in bridgton ! Worth the ten minute...
