My color was changed from gold/blonde to brown without my consent and when I asked for help, I was dismissed. I went in for a Brazilian blowout express treatment, during the consultation Kelsey suggested a toner to bring down some of the brassy color. I said that I do like a warm tone and neutral or cool tones do not look good against my skin. My natural color is a cool tone and I get highlights to bring a warmer color to it. We settled on a “honey blonde”. During the service I commented that the color seemed very dark and she said it was just because it was wet. After it was done she asked if I thought it was still dark, I said yes it seems very dark and I can’t see my highlights. She said that I may just need to get used to it and the toner will lift slightly as I wash it. When I went home, I looked at the color next to my extensions and it is obviously brown. I included pictures of my natural color so you can see that my highlights were completely covered and erased by this toner. The two pictures of my hair now are next to extensions that previously matched my hair in color but one is a cooler tone blonde. It is labeled honey blonde and obviously does not match. I called the salon later the next day to see what I could do because the color had not changed after washing and it looks brown. Kelsey told the receptionist that I had asked for a natural color and liked beige-y blonde. The receptionist also explained that cool tones look darker than warm so that’s probably what I was seeing. They asked me to send pictures, which I did. I’ve received no response to that email. At the very end of the call, the receptionist did say she could schedule me for a color removal - but that it would “bring you back to the yellow brassy color you started with”. Just because a stylist doesn’t personally like the color of a clients hair, doesn’t mean they get to change it without consent. I won’t be letting anyone from this salon touch...
Read moreI had an ombré done, and I just want to say I asked for brown to blonde and it was my first time having my hair colored so I thought I’d go to a more high end place, but I’m quite disappointed, it was over $400 and my hair is more of an orange not blonde, and it doesn’t even seem very complex like a balayage would be, there’s not really any dimension, it’s just a plain one colour to the other with no different shades so I don’t understand why it cost so much for something I probably could’ve achieved at home that may have been less precise but at least I wouldn’t feel like every time I look at the colour of my hair I’ve been ripped off.
Also I am disappointed that I wasn’t really educated on what effects bleaching my hair would have on its health, I am aware it is expected that it will be damaged in some way, but nobody there explained how to best care for it or what to expect, since I had never done this before, which I explained. Even when I asked I was told, “I’ll explain that later when we talk about shampoo”. But after my session I was sent to the cash desk, told by the lady that a shampoo was “recommended” for me by the stylist and if I wanted to purchase it from them, so I did expecting someone to explain how it works or how to care for my hair but I was just sent out the door! Also be expecting a sudden COVID surcharge % that they don’t tell you about until after your session when they’re ringing you out, so your left having to pay that on top of the overpriced shampoo set and just simply not really knowing how much you’ll be charged because of all of the hidden costs that they put on you. Overall I expected better, but a higher price tag doesn’t necessarily mean...
