This review will probably be a bit over the top. The experience of going out to a restaurant after being stuck inside for 3 months with little social interaction during that time is bound to make anyone a bit overzealous.
I should also mention it was a beautiful evening weather wise which made the evening affair even better. The setup they had out side was perfect - all tables were well spaced apart and they had cleaning supplies readily available. We did have to wait in our car for about 35 minutes, but it was enticiapted.
The chips and salsa along with some tall margaritas and soft music helped the conversation flow easily and made the noise from the nearby road unconsciously disappear. The food was very good, though the table was a bit tight for a couple fajita setups. The ingredients all looked fresh and were prepared well. The drinks were made nicely too. I prefer my margaritas with a bit more tequila flavor, but you could certainly taste it so it wasn't all sour mix.
The wait staff were all wearing masks, they wiped down all menus once used, and wiped down the tables thoroughly once a party left. They were all in good spirits. I wonder if they expected such a turn out. They certainly had enough individuals on hand.
Cost wise, it wasn't too bad, but certainly not the cheapest Mexican restaurant. Expect to pay a moderate amount and remember to tip the wait staff well! Also, bring a mask and hand sanitizer for your own well-being. We had hand-wipes too and cleaned everything before and after we touched it. We got food items you eat with your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not one to typically write reviews (I know, very original opener) My wife and I have eaten at Frontera probably 4-5 times now. We stopped by last night on a whim. The food was outstanding, as expected! Weāve never had a bad meal there, and we typically order something different each time. Weāre both chefs, so we like to āsampleā and usually order a few things to share. However, the inspiration for this review wasnāt actually because of the food, but the service! WaitSTAFF (not just our waitress) were so attentive to our table. They had quite a few people in there for a Tuesday evening on 101a⦠Our water glasses were never empty, someone would graciously come over with the pitcher and refill. Our food was run and bussed very timely and always with a friendly smile. At no point were they overbearing, just observant of not just ours, but ALL tables. We even had our 1mo baby with us, and every member of the staff who was table side at any point in the evening complimented her and interacted with her, even with just a smile. Just truly a very friendly, caring and talented staff. As a fine dining chef who has worked in plenty of restaurants and have been both at the giving and receiving end of high end services, Frontera is a textbook example of good training, happy staff, and professionalism.
I would be so proud of them if I was their chef/gm/restaurant owner!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first time dining at Frontera, but it definitely won't be the last as it was excellent! The very first dish I noticed when I opened the menu was the Enchiladas Sonoma, and that's ultimately what I ordered for dinner, even though there were many, many menu items that I wanted to try. I had the Raja Taquitos as my appetizer. Both dishes were amazingly delicious, and you could tell that all the ingredients they use are very fresh. My dining companion had the Top Shelf Guacamole, which is made fresh to order tableside, and beef fajitas. She said those were also delicious. I tried the guac, even though I'm not a fan of avocados, and I even could taste the difference between freshly made guac and everyday guac. The servers were all so friendly and welcoming, even when I had to send back my Taquitos because they arrived with the avocados I had asked them to hold. Just be prepared for the chairs: they're an odd sort of rustic barrel chair which go well with the decor, but they're a bit snug if you're a larger person like myself (my dining companion fit into them and she said they were pretty comfortable). Fortunately they have normal dining...
