This is hands down one of the most poorly operated Krogers in the Nashville area, especially when weighing it against its sister stores in Brentwood and Franklin. This store is clean enough, and looks nice inside, plus is easy to get to. Honestly, if you just visited once or twice, you probably wouldn't think twice about the quality of this Kroger is. It would be fine and acceptable to a one time visitor.
However, when you've been a patron at this location for years, you start to pick up on the blatant short comings that could easily be fixed. Produce and meats are regularly not stocked, and many items are commonly just completely missing. They put in new self checkouts last year, but made two of them conveyor belt-based checkouts, which just slows down and complicates the entire process. And then on top of that, the other half of the self checkouts are only open maybe 50% of the time, so it takes forever to check out. But don't worry, you can't go to a standard cashier either, because there is only one human cashier working at any given time, so their line is also long. Huge miss by not adding more self checkouts when they did this upgrade. Should've taken a note from the book from the Krogers on Edmonson and Franklin Pike.
Even more egregious when you consider their competition has become more stiff, with a wonderful Aldi opening 2 minutes down the road, and a very well-run Publix existing across the street. Both Aldi and Publix offer a much, much better shopping experience with the same or better quality of items. And Aldi does it cheaper! I have never had an experience that makes me question either of these two stores quality of operation, and I am a frequent shopper at...
Read moreThis is the absolute worst Kroger location I've ever seen, and I've seen some bad ones. This morning before 8:00am, I tried to use the lottery ticket machine by using credit from a few winning tickets I had. The credit registered on the machine as $11.00 but would not dispense any new tickets. Each time I tried, the machine would lock up. Finally, some guy who called himself a manager dressed in a flannel shirt, jeans and construction boots (hardly the attire for a store manager), opened the machine and then told me to wait a minute. A minute turned into nearly 10 minutes so the employee overseeing the self checkout lines went in the back to get him. He finally emerged stating that there was nothing he could do and I would need to come back later in the day when the other manager arrived. When I asked what about my $11, he said to take a photo of it with my phone and hope that the afternoon manager could reimburse me. Are you kidding me? I protested loudly and thankfully, the same worker who went in the back to get him spoke up and said that all he had to do was open the machine and pay me the $11.00 from there. A special thank you to that wonderful man because without him, I would have lost my money all because this so-called manager was absolutely clueless as to what to do. If that's the best Kroger can do in terms of management, then I will gladly take my business elsewhere. This is the last time I visit...
Read moreWorst Kroger I have been too in Nashville and I live 0.2 miles from them so they are my go too since I can’t afford Publix prices. The pharmacy NEVER have my prescriptions ready when promised, I go to pick them up and after calling 30 minutes before, and nothing ready when I get there. They are busy, I get it, but hire more people! The gals answering the phones are really rude and do not listen to what you say before they interrupt and then hang up on you. When I go to the store, I always go with a list and there will ALWAYS be at least 2 items they are out of every time, never fails. Don’t get me started on the seafood department. Never anyone at the counter, they need some sort of bell when a customer is waiting. I will ask if an item is available and the guy told me no, walked around the corner and found myself exactly what I needed. Bad management for sure. Could tell you several other occurrences, but it wouldn’t do any good. Where are you Kroger Corporate? Get this stores act together. They need to learn from the Brentwood Franklin Rd and Hermitage Old Hickory Kroger....the 2 best in...
