I love the traditional Chinese food from "Corner Asian." It's worth the 30 minute drive without traffic and it's worth 60 minute drive with traffic. Their traditional dishes are called "Real Chinese" at our house but even more specifically they are from spicy culinary capital of the world, Sichuan, China. My first go to is almost always Chengdu Spicy Beef which is meat forward with just the right amount of carrots, onions, and mushrooms with a pleasant amount of sauce/oil. I am not one who can handle a ton of spice, so I would say this is dish is 7 out of 10 for what I can handle. In other words, it's spicy but I love it. Any hotter and I would be pushed beyond my limit. I can eat the whole serving with a side of rice and more full than I should be. There is sweet note to this dish just makes it perfectly balanced. Again, it's my first go to so when alone or tight on budget, it's what I order. Ideally I come here with family and/or friends and eat "family style" by ordering a few dishes and sharing them. The line up is always: - Chengdu Spicy Beef - Spicy Cumin Beef or Lamb - Chongqing Hot Pepper Chicken - Stir-Fried String Beans The Cumin Beef/Lamb is very much a cumin dish. But, man it's awesome when contrasting with the spicy/sweet Chengdu Spicy Beef. To lower the spice level from 10/10 to 7/10, have the chef hold the jalapeños. It's less saucy dish than the Chengdu probably due to the cumin absorbing it but it's awesome. As for the Chongqing Hot Pepper Chicken, it's pretty amazing, familiar enough to the American palate but different enough to know you are not at Panda Express. The chicken is dry fried with a red pepper base sauce, naked and not deep fried, and has a deep rich flavor. Hold the jalapeños to hold the spiciness at 7/10 versus 10/10. It can be a little oily (not unpleasant) or could be almost dry...just depends on the day..which I am happy either way. To me, the Stir-Fried String Beans serves as the best dish to serve with the proteins! The green beans are flavored perfectly and a little on the sweet side with a slight touch of vinegar. It's not spicy and perfect to balance out the meat/poultry dishes. When it comes to their American style Chinese, they are very good, and way above average. Because of the quality and portion size, it's the best lunch deal in town. If you like normal American style Chinese food, you will LOVE this. If your idea is a massive amount of Chinese food for little money, then stick with this part of their menu. If you're well traveled and know what "Real Chinese" food is then, of course, order from their traditional menu. I mean, there's a whole other level that I can't even bring myself to try at Corner Asian. My friends do, but I just can't. Cannot and will not do it. So for the purists or wildly adventurous go ahead get the beef tendon served cold, chicken feet, and frog legs, and such like. The menu I outlined is out of the American Chinese Box, but it's not crazy adventurous. I've introduced dozens of friends to my line up and they love it...even when they were scared to order it. Call it Corner Asian Cafe or Corner Asian Bistro, it's the me glorious kitchen and dining room. Keep in mind, there are two websites for this place, the one that includes "bistro" is the one that you can order online versus calling in.

I have visited this place twice in a week. That's how good the food is. There are 2 sides of the menu. The main ones is more like an American-Chinese menu like Orange chicken. The second side is the real deal Chinese cuisine. The first visit I came here alone so I only ordered stir-fried eggplant and beef tendon and shank with hot oil. The portions were pretty big. I had a leftovers for 2 other meals. The second visit I brought my husband with me so we could order more food! We ordered roasted pork belly with mustard greens, stir-fried string beans, classic dumplings, stir fried eggplant, and clams with black beans. Wow...everything was delicious. The food here has its natural umami flavor. They are not drenched in sugar and all the sauces. Some people might consider it as "bland" but for us it was delicious! Well, I don't know about the other American-Chinese dishes since I didn't order them. It might be sweet like it always is. Maybe try it yourself :) Overall, the restaurant was clean and the service was excellent.

If you want food poisoning, check out Asian Corner Cafe! 3 of 5 people got sick (in less than 24hrs) after eating here. We were just passing through, and this was a “recommended location”. Even if this place offered FREE FOOD, we wouldn’t take it. 2 kids sick for 2 days now, and 1 kid throwing up. Convenient, sure! Super close to our house in Brentwood… but I will never eat, nor recommend this place, to anyone. I’ve contacted the FDA for review and they can expect an audit until 2025 as they appear to be operating illegally. This is, of course, my own opinion. I want to make it very clear: they are 1) unprofessional in their response via telephone, 2) have a child operating behind the register (underage), and 3) don’t understand that they're not taking State Good Safety (SFS) seriously (ie undercooking chicken). I’m not sure if they believe they’re “untouchable” but this little restaurant should be shut down IMMEDIATELY. And I plan to make sure no one else gets sick. Again, all IMO, but I’ll never eat here again. Save your money and go elsewhere! Service: took almost 30min to get food. Atmosphere: the 5 people in the restaurant looked super depressed. Service: the little girl behind the counter asked her “mom” for help when she couldn’t handle some customer on the phone. She also can’t handle...

I used to get take out here about once a month, and last time I went there they forgot one of my items I ordered. I called them and they asked if I wanted to drive back and get it and I said no so they informed me to tell them next time I order so I can get it. So about three weeks went by and I ordered over the phone, and I told them I was informed to remind them about the item so they could give it to me this time. I show up and the older lady that works there started questioning me about when I had ordered the item they had forgotten. She then told me they usually put it on their board so they are reminded. They did not have it written down and then acted like I was trying to scam them. I informed them they can charge me if they'd like and she said no and took it off.

So I get home and what a surprise, something is missing this time too. I call to tell them and I ask I'd she is going to put this one on the board too. She then informed me that they forgot my item today because of my bad attitude. I found that interesting considering my food was already packaged and waiting for me when I showed up before I even opened my mouth.

I dislike people blaming their instabilities on others... especially costumers. I will not...
