I recently went here because I wanted to try a different resale shop. I bought in 2 bins of clothing. One bin had some clothes from my daughter that were too small for her, the other bin was clothes that my 5 1/2 month old son couldnât fit anymore. Some of the outfits I brought in he had only wore once maybe twice. They were still in good condition. The lady that took my items asked me âHave you sold here before?â and how did you hear about us?â I explained that I goggled searched resale shops for infant and kids clothes/items. We got on the subject of me previously going to Once upon a Child, she then asked me âOh, their not buying today?â That rubbed me the wrong way because it seems like she was insinuating that I shouldâve went there instead. (Maybe Iâm looking to deep into it) but she told me it would be an hour or so and I could come back. I get back, and she points to what they took from both bins, which the items where placed on a high self and she never took them down to at least show me. From what I saw, it was 2 pairs of my daughters pants, a sleeper, a pair of shoes, and a few infant outfits. She offered me a measly $10 for all of that! I shouldâve said no thank you and asked questions as to what was wrong lwith some of the items that they didnât take. I probably wonât ever come back to sale here again because my first experience was not a pleasant one. Itâs frustrating because my sons clothes were gently used and some of those outfits he only wore once so Iâm not understanding what exactly their looking for as to the...
Read morePrior to today, Iâve purchased from here a lot and so has my mother. Today coming in, I was bringing in some of my two little ones old clothes and I felt judged as soon as I walked in. Now Iâve never brought in clothes so I came to the front and let the worker know that I had three bags ready for them to look at. Immediately, I was looked at weird and she looked at my shirt, not in my eyes and asked me. Have I been here before. Just felt a little uncomfortable. She proceeded to say they usually accept clothes in a bin and not bags, but she was sure they would accept the clothes in the bag today. When I went to the side of the store ready to give them the clothes, I wasnât even in a foot away from the door and another worker stopped me while Iâm carrying my three bags and asked what sizes are my clothes, I told her they vary. She then says, well if they are infant clothes they wonât stay folded because they are in a bag. They wonât even budge to take it if it wonât stay folded. She also stated they really only take matching sets for infants, which cannot be true because Iâve purchased single shirts and single pants for my children here prior to today. All in all I didnât even want to waste my time to stay or even let them look at the clothes because I was already uncomfortable, felt like I didnât belong, I also felt like they didnât even wanna try and look at my items...
Read moreI went for the first time today with practically brand new clothes barely or never worn and shoes. I could tell katie had an attitude from the moment I walked in however i decided to give them a chance since i was debating selling or giving them to a pregnant friend. II was told they needed an hr to look at them and I said no problem. I took my son to play next door. When I got the text I went back and katie told me they only liked a few items and so I was offered 2.75 for about 10 clothes and bibs and I was like that's okay I'll give them to my friend instead. I tried to give them the wearable bibs and katie decided to get an attitude and say I'm sure your friend would appreciate those too. I was just going to give them to them for free not take the 10 cents they were offering but with the attitude she had I didn't even bother to correct her and tell her I didn't expect money for them. Worst place ever. DO NOT GO THERE! I have a doctorate and I totally felt judged and discriminated from the moment I set foot in there. Racist and rude and incompetent staff. The girl at the front counter seemed okay but katie definitely should not be employed in a place of customer service. Go to Once Upon a Child to sell clothes if you need to. The staff is much nicer and...
