Went to furniture fair to look for some new couches. We were greeted right away but not with a hello or anything but with a āDO YOU HAVE YOUR MASKSā. I understand the precautions being taken because of the virus but we had masks on us we just did not want to wear one considering it was extremely hot out and again we only wear one if we have to. OUR RIGHTS. Now if we had to then we would have worn one but do not sit there and greet us with a ādo you have your masksā and then when my husband says no (meaning he didnāt want to wear one) which is his right. The salesman Jim goes āthatās fine just stay away from meā. Like okay? Unnecessary but we ignored. We browsed around and found a couch and love seat we really liked so my husband went to search for Jim and my husband greeted him by calling him ābudā considering the fact that he never gave us his name because his greet was not like it should be when someone walks into a store. Jim the salesman then goes rudely āwhat did you call meā āwhat was thatā and my husband said āI called you bud I was trying to get your attentionā. Jim says rudely ānot your bud, name is Jimā. Which really made my husband mad because he didnāt mean anything by it and once again he was being rude. Not sure if we was rude due to the fact that we werenāt wearing masks which again is our right or if he just was having a bad day... not sure. We had another lady help us which I donāt remember her name but she was awesome. She was helpful, friendly and all above very pleasant to work with. We will come back if need be but management should really talk To their salesman Jim and tell him to be a little more friendly and not so rude to people. Bud is just a friendly term my husband uses it didnāt mean anything but the fact that he was rude to my husband for it... almost made us want to leave. In fact if we didnāt like the couches so much we would have left...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and have purchased ALL of our furniture for FF of New Bern. We new each sale person by name, and Mrs Barbra in the office is such a delight. However, things have changed at FF of New Bern. service after the sale is abhorrent. Our last three furniture purchases have gone to another company. I have been waiting for a month and a half for a mattress, that's still under warranty, to be replaced. I have called and walked into the store with no answers. Finally the mattress came in, and I had to keep calling to find out when it would be delivered. I went in the store on June 18th 2018 and was told that the mattress would finally be in on Friday June 22, 2018. I waited a week to get a call, and nothing. I went back in on the 29th of June, and Chip came out, apologized for the delay and stated, "I hate to do this, but with this being the end of the month we'd like to get new business delivered first". After I have waited I have been informed that I, nor my back, is as important as "new business". He said he could have it delivered Monday. I took off work, not solely for that but it did affect my decision to take off, only to get a call Monday that it could not be delivered. After a short back and forth, Chip called me back an hour later stating that it would be delivered by 6pm. In the past, the young women who worked the window were just plain rude and dismissive. My bill with FF has been paid off for over a year now, but I will no longer give my money for this type of service. Two sets of washer's and dryer's, bedroom suits, living room suits, flat screen TV's, surround sound, all from FF, but no more. It's been a nice run, but I want good product and good service for the duration of the products life.
FOLLOW-UP - Replacement Mattress Delivered.....Will be going to Badcock or another store first thing in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJoe Murphy has got to be one of the most patient salespeople out there! My Dad was looking for new recliners for he and my Mom and I was just tagging along. Joe pointed out features and offered insights as we tried out nearly every chair in the Furniture Fair showroom and took pictures of our favorites to run past Mom at home. The next day we went back and ordered two very different chairs. The one my Dad chose for himself reminded me of Captain Kirk's Command Chair on the USS Enterprise and the other one (my Mom's) was pretty plain in comparison but it was the one she'd chosen from the pictures. The next day they were delivered to their home in Havelock and it took my Mom about 5 minutes to decide that she wanted a Captain Kirk chair too so Dad and I loaded her chair into his truck and headed back to Joe for the third time in three days. In no time at all, Joe took the plain chair back, helped load up the new, far better, Star Trek power recliner into my Dad's truck and charged him the difference in price between the two. Easy peasy! I also need to mention that Joe was also very careful and patient when he was showing Dad and I how to set this chair up once we got it home. Sorry for being so long-winded but the whole experience, though somewhat confusing, was made as simple as possible because Joe Murphy was just so easy to do business with. Five stars and two...
