Food Lion — Local services in New Bern

This store never really have a manager on deck. I don’t even know how this store is still functioning. I witness a young girl on aisle 4 who worked there look like something was wrong. Tried to go around her but she couldn’t move. I was able to capture her name which said Lyric as she was standing there shaking and rocking . I knew there was something wrong. Tried finding her help but no manager was no where to be found. How can any manager know what’s going on when they stay missing or in the office and never running their store. This store could really use managers who seem concerned and managers that help put in the work when they see it’s busy to make sure every customer is pleased. I really hope this store make some changes in a good way to where it makes me as a customer happy to shop there and feel welcome and not have to worry that we will have a...

I purchased chicken salad a couple of days ago n found a cut up plastic lid in my food while eating, mind you I'm 9 months pregnant and was pissed off and digusted by the sanitary levels of the deli department. I returned the item back to the deli and expressed my concern of the matter to management and apparently it was a joking matter to them. I don't care how many years I've shopped with this store this situation had me furious. I will not spend another dime in this store. I was very displeased on how the situation was handled especially me being pregnant and the situation seemed to be a joke to them. This store is pretty good. I've never shopped here, and shopping at new places makes me really nervous. (I have pretty bad social anxiety). The staff is kind, the store is small but well kept and has everything you need. I love small grocery stores because you aren't walking miles to get your food. Some of the produce was turning so you have to be careful what you pick. And I went through about 5 cartons of eggs before I found a carton with eggs that weren't cracked (went home and the cracked eggs were just hiding from me anyways). But a small price to pay for the convince of how close this...
