I have to say...this is the first hotel I've experienced in this affordable price range that went beyond my expectations in a very positive manner. I had been driving for twelve hours and desperately needed some rest when I found this hotel last night (Monday night). While I've had many road trips before, they're usually not accompanied with a good hotel experience. In part because they are unplanned stops which are last-minute and late night. So, many times I have had to take my chances with lower budget hotels when there were no other options available. But back to this hotel!...First the location was perfect. Conveniently to the highway, but off just enough that the traffic noise was not a problem, or a hinder to a good night's rest. Second, the front desk agent was welcoming, quick and professional while also very accommodating to my preferred room requests (room location/beds). The room itself was just what I needed to feel comfortable and content enough to sleep. Especially since I am one who has trouble sleeping if I am not in own bed. The room and bathroom were very spacious, as well as very clean. The pillows, comforter and bed in general were all very cozy. But the biggest surprise for me was discovering the exceptional hot breakfast this morning! This is what impressed me the most, given my previous experience at other places. They offered a hot breakfast with various delicious options to choose from oatmeal, pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and even a veggie omelet that I very much enjoyed! They also had some other options not mentioned here. So why is this breakfast different/better than any other place? Because it was cooked perfectly; it was fresh and actually had flavor. But the most important part is that the breakfast area and everything down to the serving platters were exceptionally clean and visually appealing! If you're traveling through, please choose this place for the night if you're wanting what most of us want...great value for our money along with a pleasant night's rest. I recommend it! Read moreMy family and I were traveling from New Hampshire to Texas (roughly 2100 mi trip), and what we thought would be a 2/3 day trip ended up taking 4 days due to circumstances. During 2 of the 4 nights, we stayed at 2 different Holiday Inn Express locations. Both times my family was thrilled with the room, pool, breakfast, beds, showers, comfort, and everything Holiday Inn Express provided. Price was very important due to the extended time of the traveling, esp with 2 vehicles. The agents at the front desk could not have been nicer or more welcoming.
The rooms each time in two very different states were comfortable to the point of I hadn't slept so well in probably years. They were clean and welcoming, and we could tell the cleaning staff put love and effort into them. The Hotel was quiet and perfectly temperature (especially in the brutal and unforgiving August temperatures of the south this year). The pools made everyone happy and we were very welcoming of the refreshing feeling of playing in the pools and then nice showers after.
The long days of driving and road-weariness were met with comfort, rest, and peace. Our daughters were exhausted but peaceful, and we were more than happy to jump into bed each night in the rooms even with a little TV ( a VERY rare occurrence). The breakfasts were INCREDIBLY FUN! The pancake and mini-waffle makers were a true hit with everyone and I got very nice Sausage biscuits and gravy each stay (one reason I love the south!). Food was fresh, hot and nothing was out of stock or looked unappealing.
I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our time, and how much I was ready to skip the trip and consider the true vacation, just staying at these locations. I don't hope to travel again for a little while. But if I do, I know I will ONLY book with Holiday Inn Express.
Thank you for making our move and the travel so much more enjoyable, and know that you have a...
Read moreMy wife & I found this hotel to be very clean, and quiet. We really appreciate the wall-long furniture configuration of desk-cabinet-luggage rack-closet. With the TV affixed to the "back board" of the configuration, there is PLENTY of stuff shuffling room.||||The BRIGHT light surrounding the Bathroom vanity mirror is just what I like for shaving. ||||Oh! The room safe on the floor of the closet has its cipher code keys facing UP! This is an improvement over other hotels that require the user to sit on the floor to push the buttons.||||The soft light that runs (at the wall) along the back of the closet box, and the same kind of soft lighting behind the beds connected headboards, allows for glare free TV watching.||||But... one problem (to me, anyway... my wife says I'm too "sleep fussy.") At nights after all the lights are turned off, there was a continued soft "GLOW" from those fixtures at the wall above the closet and the beds head board (if I remember correctly for the latter.) The soft "glow" was not obtrusive, but, again, I'm a light sleeper and it bothered me a bit.||||Oh! I appreciate the rare hotel that hangs a sign in the lonnnng hallway of bedroom doors to indicate where the elevator lobby is located. Traveling day-after-day such signs help one to "get his bearings" upon exiting the room and going into the hallway... looking for the elevator. BUT... this hotel did not exactly get it right. The "ELEVATOR" sign is IN the elevator vestibule, not hanging in the...
