Brought my birth grandmother's wedding band in that she gave me prior to her passing. I was concerned about having it sized up and being damaged as it was the only thing I had given to me by her before she passed. The jeweler looked at the wedding band and told me there might be a possibility had it been sized that it would crack but he assured me he could fix it if that happened and I'd never know it by looking at it. I called a week later to see if it was done in addition to another ring I had sized. The lady on the phone informed me they were ready for pickup but the jeweler wasn't charging me anything for my grandmother's wedding bad because it cracked in 3 places and he didn't want to go any further with it. She also told me because of the cracks I shouldn't wear it often because it was subject to break. I asked if it could be repaired as it meant ao much to me and the women told me it would take extensive repair and cost to fix. In total devastation I went to pick it up and a different women said she thought it would be fine to wear but didn't give much reassurance other than the fact that I wasn't being charged. I took this ring to another jeweler and it had not 3 cracks but 7. The jeweler informed me that the previous jeweler didn't stretch it evenly when resizing but pulled from one side causing the damage. He repaired my grandmother's ring for $60 and you'd never know what was done to it by this jeweler at Smith's. I would never take anything to this jeweler again. Especially if it was of sentimenal value. Apparently not charging a person after damaging a piece of jewelry is their solution!!! Worst experience I've ever had with a jewelry store!! It would've been better business and better for their reputation had they just repaired their failed work and given it back fixed and I never would've known they didn't do it correctly and caused damage to a family heirloom! Instead they destroyed a family heirloom and thought they were doing me a favor by not...
