I have never in all my life had such an appalling experience as I have with this salon and its owner. Last week I had the worst haircut ever and reached out to the owner to see what we could do about it. It was decided to let it grow out a bit and try to clean it up a bit later. Today I went back to have a few more highlights added to the back which was left untouched while having my highlights done last week. I was blonde in the front and dark brown in the back. But, the stylist was good with the front color so I thought "what could go wrong?" The color came out orangish rather than blonde so I guess that's what could go wrong. But the best was being berated by the owner as, somehow, it was my fault. And he stormed out of the room, mid-conversation- leaving me to get my head wrapped around how it became my fault. As I continued to try to talk to him, he locked himself in the bathroom to remove himself from the situation. Apparently, the stylist told him I asked to have the bleach washed out before it was ready to be washed, which was not the truth, but a way for her to shift the blame. After being told that I was a difficult client, I was asked to leave...with wet hair. All of this was happening in front of employees (who began to chime in with the salon owner) and clients who watched in disbelief. I was humiliated. I cried the whole way home for the horrendous treatment I received and now the bad hair color...on top of the butcher job of a haircut. I sit here in a total state of shock. I would expect a salon owner to do everything possible to remedy a bad haircut/color...not ask the client to leave with wet hair. Or lock himself in the bathroom. UPDATE: I located a salon that was able to fix both the haircut and orangish color. They did a fabulous job! The stylist was a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI go to Kristen Phillips and I will not go to anyone else. As long as she does hair I will exclusively use her talent. I first used her a year and a half ago for highlights and absolutely loved her work. I included pictures of that coloring too in a blue evening gown. I went on deployment and 6 months later I had my hair seriously over processed in Germany. I let it grow out for a year because it was soooo damaged, it was falling out in clumps for over a month. I just booked a last minute cancellation for highlights and I was in the next morning. She started from the front this time and I am so incredibly happy. I included my hair before and after. It was super dark and grown out a couple inches. She got me so light and my hair did not fall out. The only thing I wish I did was use my purple shampoo more before getting my highlights because my ends are a little brassy but thatās my fault. I love the shine, brightness, health, highlight technique, and face framing. She even got my little baby hairs around my face that for some reason make a big difference. She is the sweetest, sheās patient, kind, and so informative! The salon is so nice and the other staff are very warm and welcoming. I was offered snacks and drinks. I am very particular about my hair and I feel like I never like it, itās never blonde enough but I LOVE my hair right now!!! I needed this confidence for some major life events and it was divine, Iām so grateful! I will come here exclusively and Kristen...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy regular stylist down the street was booked up so I thought I'd give this place a try being they're new and had availability.
The person who cut my hair had a pleasant personality, however:
She did not cut my hair as I asked. I was explicit as to what I wanted and received nearly the opposite.
Used clippers for 80% of the hair cut. She repeated the statement, "it's going to grow out so nice", three times. I'm here to tell you; It is not growing out "so nice!"
She did not use clippers to trim hair off the back of my neck. The hair on my neck is longer than what is on my head.
She cut my hair in such a way that requires I come back sooner as there is an asymmetry between the length of my hair on the sides of my head and the top. She shaved my sides and back to the shortest possible, like to a 16th of an inch and kept the top long, even though I told exactly how long I wanted to be.
I think she has talent, perhaps she was having an off day? Unfortunately, her off day cost me $65.
Needless to say, I will...
