My family and I have patronized this particular location for years. I must say that the last owners were better managers. The staff and atmosphere was more pleasant and that made the experience that much more enjoyable. Today, my consort and our 6yr old daughter went for lunch. We were not greeted by any of the 2 employees behind the counter. The cashier went straight to ask what we wanted to order. We ordered the same thing we always order. My salad and my daughter's coconut shrimp came out at the same time. My daughter said thank you to the lady (I'd never seen her there before) who brought the food to the table and she didn't respond but gave her a little smirk. My inquisitive baby girl asked me why the lady didn't say "you're welcome" and why she made the tiny smirk. I responded to her that some people are just rude or unhappy and not to worry about it. That just wasn't enough for her. She wanted to know what was wrong with the lady so she went to ask. My baby girl is super sweet and gives positive words and hugs. I think she thought maybe she could help her feel better. There were no other customers at the time, so I didn't give her a hard time about asking the lady what was wrong. I hear her little sweet voice asking the lady what was wrong and why she didn't smile. The lady responded to my 6yr old that it was too hot in the cafe and she doesn't have to smile (the air conditioning has been out in the cafe for a while). I was totally taken aback by her response to a child. However, my daughter wanted an answer and she got it...lol! She's very lighthearted so although she was disappointed, she moved on from that feeling quickly. A gentleman brought out my consort's meal but his coconut shrimp were old and dry. Some of them looked a day or two old. They were inedible. Once my consort was back from the bathroom, he got the lady's attention so that he could tell her what was wrong. She did not acknowledge him but motioned to the gentleman and pointed him to our direction. At that point, I was sure she had to have serious issues that had nothing to do with us. However, she should have left them at the door before she clocked in. The gentleman had everything remade fresh and it looked more like what we were used to eating there. My salad was the usual, but much less enjoyable because of the attitude and carelessness of the cashier. Although, the place is not perfect, we had never had such a bad experience there as we did today. Upon exiting, there was no farewell either. Once outside, I saw the lady who is usually at the counter (who I assume is the manager) and I asked her about the cashier and let her know that she was not very nice. Her response was: "o.k.", then she rushed inside. I can't confidently say if I will ever return. I will say though, if I ever do, and my experience isn't significantly better than it has been lately, I will never return. I'd love to see a smile on at least one employee's face, some training in customer relations, an increase in morale and no more leaning on the pastry counters with cell phones. As of now, I could not, with good conscience,...
Read moreMy second visit after a month. After the first visit, my credit card was hacked cause someone tried to charge almost $800. The bank cancelled the card. Second visit around 4.15 this afternoon 7/9/22. The young male approximately 21 years of age was mopping the floor and walked over to the counter without washing his hands nor did he put on a pair of vinyl gloves. He picked up the tongs to pick up a croissant and I said you need to wash your hands. He seemed surprised and said "I have the tongs." I responded that is not correct. He walked away and came right back He probably rubbed sanitizer, but I did not watch his action. If employees like this young male do not know about basic hygiene they should not work in a bakery or a place selling food. I then informed him about the credit card hacking and he became very defensive and tried to defend his 18 employees. The organization is having problems. Given these two odd experiences, and with ordinary baked products, I will take my business elsewhere...
Read moreI used to eat here frequently, despite their lack of customer service, because the pho was decent and in the neighborhood. However, my last two experiences were absolutely unacceptable and have convinced me to NEVER return.
On one visit, I found an incredibly long hair in my bowl of pho. While I was disgusted, they offered me a free meal to make up for it, so I gave them another chance. BIG MISTAKE!!!! When I returned the following week, they served me pho with spoiled beef that smelled horrible.
What made it even worse was their complete lack of apology or accountability. This made me suspect that these issues weren’t accidents but a result of their consistent disregard for quality and hygiene.
This is a serious warning to everyone: DO NOT EAT HERE. They cut corners on food safety and customer service. IT’S NOT WORTH...
