I was so excited to see Evolve in Lakeview, especially since I live in the area and it's super close to my house. I decided to visit today (11/18/2023) since I was running errands and I was craving an egg nog latte. To know me is to know that I love all things egg nog, so when I saw on their Instagram that they had it on their holiday menu, I didn't need any other reason to visit. Well, I walk in and I have to say the inside is beautiful. You can tell care and thought went into the design for this location, and that I appreciate. When I walked in, there was a young lady in the back was washing some things and there were two other young ladies manning the counter. One of them having brown shoulder length hair and was making two orders and the other with the very low haircut was refilling the syrups. The longer hair one saw me when I walked in and did not acknowledge me as I stood and waited at the counter for about 5 minutes. Yes, FIVE (if not more) minutes went by while she couldn't even find the decency to say "hey! Thanks for coming in, we'll be with you in a second." Nope, she proceeded to keep making Jim's order. Then at some point she told the short haired one something and she finally decided to stop refilling the syrups to very dryly say "what can I get you." I know I should have left, and if this was any other situation I would have, but I really wanted to give this location a chance. She made my iced egg nog latte and I left. I am currently sitting in my car writing this review because I cannot believe how poor the customer service was for me. This was a totally different experience from the W. Esplanades location. Although it is a bit out of my way, I will continue taking my business there until the staff at the Lakeview location learn what good customer service is for their patrons. We order the same drinks every time we go, a honey lavender ice latte and a cold foam cold brew, unsweetened. The cold brew was made sweet. The barista at the register apparently forgot to add “unsweetened”, when she asked the barista making the coffee she said yes, as if it was not noted in the order - cool. Another coffee was made and this time extra whole milk was added to the drink. My partner cannot handle big amounts of whole milk, though we are aware that the foam contains dairy, a splash does less harm to her stomach vs. an entire half of cup of whole milk. Again, we returned the coffee and explained our issue and the barista’s did not take any accountability for their mistake, and instead asked us to pay for another black coffee. After sharing our experience via social media, their social media representative responded and again - did not hold themselves accountable for their mistake instead insulted my partner as if she doesn’t know what dairy is. Later had all of their employees looking through social page, which we assume was to report our post. My advice is to learn how to hold your employees accountable for their mistakes, and ensure to practice better customer support in situations like that. Read moreEvolve is my go to for coffee, I usually visit the W Esplenade location since it’s very convenient for me but I was near the Lakeview one so I decided to go here. I have never had problems with the staff nor the service of the W Esplanade location but there is always something going on in this other location with the staff. You usually get ignored or are not even acknowledged when you walk in. I had an app order, I understand it’s busy, I always allow extra time to go and pick up my order but the workers today were just chatting away with some other guys completely dismissing of the other customers. There was a girl in line waiting for them to finish having their conversation to finally get her order taken. When she finally got attended to, they just continued on as if they had no worries about the long line that had formed. From the time ordered to the time I got my drinks I waited for about 25 minutes. I have no problem waiting but when it comes to people who are just dismissive and rude I cannot ignore it.
