My daughter and I came in on Monday to meet up with friends, and in hopes of having a good time bowling. As a kid I spent alot of my time in this bowling alley and always remember having a such a good time here. Today was anything but that! From the moment we walked inthe door we were treated very rudly and very disrespectfuly by a lady named Jaunita. When we first came in we went up to the counter and was waiting to get our shoes and a lane. Jaunita continued to take other patrons in front of us until we walked around to the other sideofthe counter. Once it was our turn we were greated very rudely and like it was a problem we were there. She told us even thoughthere were available lanes open, that she had a league going on and she could not let us play. She continued to repeat how she didn't have any open lanes. We asked her what time that the league would be finishing up and she said 3:00. In the past I have never been turned away because a league was plaso ing if there was an empty lane. Even though after being greeted the way we were, I found this very odd, we decided to go over and sit in a booth and let our girls have a snack while we waited for a lane to open. The league ran a little over and the girls were restless so my friend and I gave the girls some ones and let them go use the pool table, air hockey table and claw machine. My friends dughter. Put one of her dollers in the vending machine and then realized that the item cost more than she had and tried to get her dollar back and the machine wasn't giving it back. We told her to go and let the cashier know and that she would help her gether dollar back. Well... Jaunita told her "No I can't give you your money back you should not have only put a dollar in the machine and you wouldn't have lost it" so my friend went up withher daughter and asked Jaunita why she was being ugly to our girls when all they did was ask youfor help? She then tried to say that our girls were disrespectful and kept asking her questions and said "I am the manager". She did give the money back afterwe had to go up there. Then after the place began to clear out we asked about our lane and she was rude and sai well i turned it on for you a while ago! She never told us when our lane was ready even though she told us she would and she knew we were waiting for a lane. One of our girls has a disability and asked if they could please put the bumpers up and she told them No! What?! She said they has to be under 7 ?! When did this change?! I know adults who use bumpers! Like i said before I am local and have bowled her for most of my life and I have never heard of that! Anytime we asked for bumpers they would turn them on for the kiddos. One ofthe older girls asked her and she said are you withthem? And she said yes and she said well if you weren't with them I would turn them on for you?! What is that? We seriously feel discriminated against! I normally do not complain but I feel that you as the owner of this business should be aware of how your business is operated when you are not around. Be careful who you choose to be the face of your company, they may run away your business. Very Sad! I would also like to add that the rest of the employees we encountered were very nice. A couple of them took the time to hear us out and agreed that she is not very nice! Because of the way we were treated by the "Manager" today, we sadly will not return to this bowling alley and will go somewhere that wants...
Read moreWorker was very rude. Had an attitude and refused to put up the bumpers. The website says Friday 10:30-12:00 is glow bowl. There was no glow bowl. Very pricey Ormond lanes is worth the drive out of the way just for the better atmosphere. Very unsatisfied. For more detail I went with my 4 friends so 5 of us total we got there an played a game of pool and some arcade machines as well as the air hockey game. Then went to check in very overpriced was told it was going to be a flat rate for an hour plus shoes but it wasn’t it was based on 15 dollars an hour per person. We got there at 10 and played the games until 10:30 when it was advertised glow bowl was supposed to start. It never did. Ormond lanes will give bumpers if you ask but when I asked new Smyrna they refused. The way the man at the counter phrased it one of my friends thought he was joking so he asked again. The guy at the counter then got rude and yelled at us. The lane next to us was a large group of college kids and they were so drunk they were practically falling over. It was also uncomfortable because of the seating arrangement having to sit there and stare at a group of drunk college kids sitting face to face with us did not make for a good experience. The alley was pretty empty that night so I don’t understand why they couldn’t have put us somewhere else. I would rather run 3 marathons in a row across the soft sand in NSB than ever go back...
Read moreI have been consistently bowling every week at this location for the past three months. I was just humiliated at the front desk. When getting shoes we we're told that we have "skipped out" of paying our bill for the last three weeks. Mark at the counter was belligerently accusing my boyfriend because he has never seen him come to the counter and pay. I TRIED explaining that I understood his confusion as my boyfriend always covers our bar tab and I ALWAYS pay for the bowling. So he is correct he has never seen my boyfriend pay...because I do. He was rude, condescending, and unreasonable. He admitted he takes my pay every week but refused to look at online bill pay statements showing that we pay. I am dumbfounded. If there is some kind of error I am confident it is on his part as he always short, rude, overwhelmed, and overall terrible at his job. The woman who works at the bar, Lisa, even came over and vouched for us as great customers. Needless to say I am bewildered. Something should be done before this man continues to drive people away. We...
