It is amazing that the restaurant has vegan options but the consistency of the portions is something to be desired, my wife & I ordered the same thing 5 times, the 1st time the ChikPea Salad wraps were amazing the next 3 times the portions were smaller dramatically, so much so that the 4th visit we hardly had any ChikPea salad, they were all lettuce. If there wasn't enough for two I wish they would have informed me instead of charging us eight plus dollars a piece we would've have easily tried something else on the menu. I tried to contact through Instagram twice with absolutely no reply. We decided to come back after the new year & with the covid numbers skyrocketing neither emplyee had on any masks (& the kitchen employee had no hair net either), I went to order & I inquired if they had enough product to make me two wraps, when I expressed my concern with why I asked & even told them the last two I ordered were basically lettuce wraps the counter person's didn't even respond to me then I walked out to my car to grab my wallet & I had a pretty good idea they were discussing my interaction with the counter woman upon my return from their hushes & their body languages. Thank you again for having vegan options unfortunately they are just a little bit overpriced for the ammount of food you actually recieve. Also the kitchen person doesn't seem to know exactly how to wrap a wrap, almost as if she's never had to make food for her own personal consumption, if that's the way you actually like the food to look like then I guess we will take our business elsewhere where people actually care about what the food looks like when it leaves your establishment. Thankn you again for having vegan options but one of the major components of veganism is compassion & it seems the kitchen staff misses the mark on that aspect that's why vegans know a cash grab when...
Read moreKinda bummed about my experience. Upon walking into the Mason Bar, I loved the atmosphere! Clean, cute! There are bathrooms but I didn’t use them and there is parking. It’s also walking distance to a park by the river. So I was very excited for my smoothie bowl, but I was very disappointed. I love bowls, I get them all the time everywhere I go. I went out of my way to go here and try it too. I got the soursop cashew bowl (I forget the name) and it was terrible, and I hate to say that but it was, from my experience with other bowls. I wish I had taken a picture but I walked to the park and didn’t bring my phone. So l’ll describe it best I can: The cashew butter was stuck to the sides of the plastic container and it was a hassle to dig it off. I don’t know why it wasn’t blended in and there was just liquid juice in the middle with barely any bananas and kiwi just floating around. No substance, not a smoothie bowl texture. It was like green soup with hard cashew butter stuck to the edge. It was really unenjoyable, maybe it would have been better if the cashew was blended with the liquid. It was just all in all a bummer and I probably won’t come here again. The staff were young girls that were nice but no real customer service (not a con, just an observation, maybe they’re shy and maybe need more practice making bowls?)
Idk, this was just my experience and unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend going here to my friends or family.
Pros: Cute shop Close to the park and river Parking Clean
Cons: The bowl : (
Everyone’s pictures make this place look so good. I wish I had a better experience. I wish I had...
Read moreMason Bar has cemented itself as a New Smyrna Beach classic at this point, and for good reason. It has all the beachy vibes that tourists and as well as residents can appreciate. Of course the main appeal is the food. My favorite thing to get here is the smoothies. The very hilariously named D’s Nuts and the Joe are my top picks! The Acaj bowls are also pretty decent, the are very generous with their peanut butter, which is something I utmost appreciate. But as to why it isn’t 5 stars, is because I just don’t think it was as good as previous times I’ve been. Maybe it was just a bad day, though so take my 4 stars with a grain of salt. If I go again and it improves I would easily change it to a 5. Great place, for pretty much anyone. Good vegan and vegetarian options of course, and even kids can find something to like here. Pretty solid place,...
