I am a regular at Perrines during snowbird season and sometimes parts of Summer. I just came from there after spending several weeks in the Boston area and boy did I miss getting my veggies here.
Very competitive prices good quality on most things although once in awhile they are clearly seconds. The cherries made me laugh because almost the whole bag was rejects that were too cherries that grew on the same stem and they look like a little butt. But they were half the price of the grocery store and tasted just as good. So I am glad they work hard to find decent produce they can offer at a good price even if once in awhile things go bad more quickly. I think I've given up on the Hass avocados here. Whenever I get them they go from unripe to having black inside the flesh and I throw out two out of three. But most everything else is decent or good quality and always good prices. So I guess every once in awhile you'll get a lemon....
Read moreHave to say I miss the old place and wish it had been updated made pretty and quaint. The new store is over the top for me as this is a 2 female household and we don’t require abundance of food. We look for fresh groceries and organic when possible. I buy from just inside the door and down that isle at the new store. The dry goods don’t interest me and I find it too time consuming. Actually, reminds me of the Save a Lot that was there previously which I did not care for. I’d like Perrines old spot to be occupied with local farmers market goods I now have to find on Saturday mornings only However, I shop at the new store when I’m near it for old times sake. Charisma tends to make me spend and the new store lacks that. I wish them well I know they work hard and it is a family business that I’d like to see...
Read moreI love the deals at Perrines! I’ve been shopping there since 2004. What I don’t care for are a good portion of their customers. When I was there yesterday, several were not following the mask request. My husband and I are in the high risk category. I have COPD and I still wear a mask! And the self entitlement of the NSB Beachside snobs are simply too much. One man cut in front of the entire line and told me I should get a life, simply because I asked him why he felt the need to cut everyone off. Since that incident and the lack of people refusing to follow the mask mandate (for everyone’s safety, it’s not political!) I do not shop there weekly anymore. I used to drive out of my way, not now. It’s a shame more stores are not demanding masks or no service. Like Habitat for...
