I hate to write reviews. I really do. I never write reviews about restaurants because my husband and I owned an Italian restaurant and have worked in our own restaurant and others throughout the years. So I'm the most sympathetic customer you can get. We waited over an hour. (no joke) for 3 salads and 3 appetizers. We were not served water! For 20 minutes. Our table was not approached for 20 minutes. They had 4 tables they were serving in the whole restaurant . There were two hostesses. And about 4 different people approached our table to serve at any given time. We Didn't get water for 20 minutes. I believe it was the manager who approached the table twenty minutes after we were sat who said "we would be willing to serve you some drinks, but I'm understaffed and we can't take your order at this time... Because.. covid.." mmm ok. There were 4 kitchen staff and a bartender (with one customer at the bar) . There was the manager; two hostesses; a server; and two other guys working.. There were 4 tables in the whole restaurant.. I called him out. I said "There are several people working here. You guys can't approach the table fir 20 minutes to bring even water. You can't take our order. You have two hostesses standing right there." He wanted to argue. Not even an apology. Very smug and Confrontational. Any way, There are 5 beverages on the menu. 2 of which are a cappuccino and coffee. They never brought a cocktail list nor were we asked if we wanted a cocktail for lunch. I asked for a decaf cappuccino. He told me no. I asked for a decaf coffee (2 of the 5 beverages offered on the menu) NO. But he will go and check if they can make coffee.. ok. Server came over. About 30 minutes in. Took an order for 3 salads. Buffalo dip. A cheese plate. And fried green tomatoes. Didn't get the cheese plate for a very long time. Long story short. I started timing it. We had the food brought to the table a little over an hour after sitting. But my husbands salad was not brought out for almost ten minutes after the rest of the food. Because he ordered shrimp. shrimp takes 60 seconds (not an exaggeration) to cook. So we sat and waited an additional ten minutes for his shrimp salad- with everyone's food sitting on the table (an hour in). Oh, my coffee was made (gosh someone decided it actually wasn't too much trouble to brew a decaf for me) but not brought to the table.. the waiter pointed out that they forgot to bring it to the table. At this point there was 4 different people that had approached the table to serve. Yet the restaurant claimed there was no staff. My husband went out to his car at one point and the side kitchen door was open and he saw several staff socializing outside and several people working in the kitchen. At this point there was only two tables besides our table (an hour later). We were there almost two hours. When the check was brought we were informed that they gave us our iced teas for free. They didn't bring a cocktail list, so they gave us a few dollars off for iced tea and the coffee they decided to brew. The waiter was very nice and we were very nice to him. But it was ridiculous. It's a shame. It's a beautiful restaurant. It has a lot of potential.. They need a new manager. Closing comment: it's not "because covid." It's "because...
Read moreZ Cuisine is extraordinary! combined with a delightful atmosphere offering several experiences to the senses. Rating has nothing to do with the food. My rating has to do with details of the heart, issues of the heart. I was positioned in Daytona Beach ready for Labor Day the end of Labor Day weekend for "waitr, Bite Squad" out of New Orleans Louisiana which is a great initial impression for a essential provision application because they're not from the Silicon, not part of the Sili-con, in fact I have vast experience with the professional delivery applications for essential provisions and by far Waitr Bite Squad is number one, unmatched. I drove from Daytona Beach to River Park Terrace to fulfill a customer's desire for a lunch experience at home from River Park but on arrival suddenly as I was parking my limousine cater with refrigeration/freezer and warming ovens the order was canceled so I went inside and I was informed that they simply were not able; they were too too too busy to fulfill a essential request from their customer. I was not looking forward to telling the River Park customer the bad news. I glanced around the restaurant. Empty Tables many empty chairs so that was very disappointing not only to me but most definitely to the customer who was hungry and to the platform in general. the entire provision delivery platform takes a setback when a restaurant rejects a customer.. consumer confidence levels drop. the customer loses more confidence in the merchant. this young lady who cancelled the customers request I found out was not a owner. Was the customer handicapped? was the customer hospitalized? was the customer a war veteran who had perhaps been wounded? restaurantier had no way of knowing. I can only put myself in the customers position not wanting to be at the restaurant for obvious reasons the world we live in today but wanting to enjoy dining experience at home in the safety and comfort of home surroundings. My daily attire pressed white button-down long sleeve shirt with silk black bow tie and a waiter chapeau. I drove 22 miles one way. in the world we live in today every man must be his brother and sisters keeper. Every Woman must be brother and sister keeper. we all have to work together, we're all in this together. my life is dedicated to serve, my heart is conditioned for service. it's in my blood and it runs in my family and that's where I find the most enjoyment. If only this would B a part of everyone's life. I don't know the heart of this perSon responsible for denying the customer essential provision request I can only judge her action and it displayed no concern for her customer sitting at home. if only she would have taken one moment consider the order that was placed at her command. I have a concierge service. 5 decades service to New Smyrna Beach. Well Praise The Lord. For this day is the day the Lord has made and I will be glad and rejoice in it. Recommendation: River Park Terrace, New Smyrna's number 1 dining experience! Make "River Park Terrace" next on your...
Read moreWe had my daughter’s first birthday party here at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 19th, 2018. UNFORTUNATELY, we were pressured to leave from before we arrived at the venue until we left. We would have most definitely patronized The Garlic or another fine dining restaurant had we known how we would be treated. I wish they would have told me how pressured we would have been to have a high dollar party at 4:00 pm at their restaurant. We were called at 3:20 pm for a 4:00 pm reservation by Mary stating she assumed we had cancelled...even though our reservation was for 4 pm? Why would we cancel after I called at 2 pm the day of?? And I spoke to Beth several times prior to the party too. We were blocks away with only a few decorations for my daughter’s first birthday and were going to be there BEFORE 3:20 pm. We were told multiple times that we had to be out in 2 hours or under. We had a party of over 20 people and my family alone (4 people with a 1 year old) spent $200. They made a lot of money off our party. Multiple people in our party stated they were being kicked out, though they would have like to have coffee after dinner. My daughter didn’t even get to finish opening her gifts (even though we had TWO big kids opening them as fast as possible). They were cleaning the tables before our party ever left. I would recommend the restaurant for only 2-4 people. DO NOT have a party here. They will put you on a time limit and kick you out, even if you spend a ton of money. I wish them luck, but they definitely could benefit from some lessons in customer service. Beside that, the food was good. I wish they didn’t constantly tell me they have a reservation at 6....literally the whole time I was there. They definitely ruined the only time I would get to enjoy my baby turning 1 year old. Do not book a party or any occasion of importance here. They will treat you like you are less than.... Too bad I’m a local (born and raised in NSB) and now feel I can’t even recommend this restaurant to my friends or family for any special occasions. They can’t reply and say that I didn’t have a...
