Randoons — Local services in New Trier Township

I really loved the store and had shopped there quite often over the years living in Winnetka. Unfortunately the last time I tried to shop in the store-several months ago the owner told me I had to wear a mask. Nobody was in the store. I wear glasses. Btwn the steaming up & residue from mask heat it is a constant battle to see clearly. I said to her well I guess I’ll have to go then and the owner rudely retorted “fine bye”. In fairness I probably hadn’t been in the store for a year(b/c of you know) and I was missing shopping there. I’ve gotten some very nice gifts, wardrobe items and leather goods from the store over the years. I’ve always supported local small biz. My favorite items: 3-Save the Duck down alternative jackets, camo overalls, Brynn Capella leather purse. I was ready to do some serious shopping in her store.Instead I left feeling completely devalued & disrespected.If you’re a small business you need every customer that WANTS to walk thru the door.Shoo-ing people out the door because they won’t comply w/wearing a useless mask is a terrible business decision. I have been going to Randoons for about 20 years, and it is, by far my favorite shop on the North Shore. Randi, the owner finds amazing things you won't find other places, often made by artisans. They have an amazing selection of clothing, jewelry, gifts, and the best selection of the skin care products made by FarmHouse Fresh.
