Where do I even begin? I had a car engine shipped stateside from Greece. I didn't choose this company, the seller/shipper did. Everything seemed to go smooth when the transaction happened in Greece. The seller showed me that he placed the engine, the ECU, the wiring harness, and the fuse box inside of a crate and had it nicely wrapped in plastic separately, so nothing would get damaged or potentially get oil on it. When the package landed stateside, it took almost 2.5 months for them to tell me they had it. Then, the package was sent incorrectly as a regular package instead of as crate (Didn't know why originally, but I know why now,) via UPS. Because it was sent incorrectly, UPS then held my package at a shipping warehouse and forced me to then go pick it up and take it home myself. Again, I paid for it to be shipped to my home.
When I continually contacted Argo about this, they told me that UPS was wrong, that their subcontractor Unishippers sent it wrong, anything they could think of to try and make it not their fault. I proceeded to follow up with both UPS and Unishippers, who both provided me with proof that it wasn't their fault, but Argo's. When I then contacted them again about this, they still denied and refused to admit fault. When I finally went and picked my engine up, it was sitting in a giant plastic skid tub wrapped in plastic with everything haphazardly thrown inside. The wiring harness and sockets are all covered in oil and/or broken and unusable. The Electronic Control Unit isn't there (when the original shippers pictures show it was,) and a wire from the wiring harness has been sheered off.
I've attached pictures of how it was initially shipped, to how it looked after I opened it at my home, and how the packaging is completely different and inadequate.
Screw you Argo, you're bar none the absolute worst company I've ever had the displeasure of...
Read moreThe good: This company is very easily accessible by phone. They will “yes” and “ofcourse” you to death. Their prices are about 2% lower
The bad: getting anything out of them, such as a quote, information about your shipment, anything out of the most of ordinary questions is impossible! Better luck pooling red meat out of a great white’s mouth Late for EVERYTHING. If you are lucky enough to get something, it will be half the information short and a week or two late. Unprofessional: immagine going down to the port in the 1800s and negotiating with the filthy shipping yard foreman. This is the level of paperwork and documentation you will get. Unproffessional: they have no idea where they are sending you if you are shipping something you have to deliver yourself to a location and will blame you for it! Unproffessional: This might be an one-off, but in my case it was a quite BIG one-off. ALL the port paperwork was wrong. Shipping Number, Ship name and destination port was wrong. They would not accept their error untill they communicated directly with the port and they were told that they didnt know what they were doing! A drop-off ended up costing an entire day!
The price was about 2% lower and i regret dearly for taking it. The item is still in transit, and i am questioning the shape and time it will finally be delivered. I will ammend and complete this review, if and once it makes it! For now..... my confidence is very low and i have the gut feeling that this will cost me far more than the 2% i was saving.
I would NOT recommend this company! I would have gladly traded a couple of hundred bucks for security and ease of mind!
Update: ————— As expected, the price became 13% higher and I am now looking to sue them. Supposedly the trailer magicaly grew from the time it was manufactured, I measured it and I delivered it, to the time they...
Read moreIf it was possible I could put -5 stars. Completely unprofessional. They have spoken with the person in contact since Tuesday because the person in contact saw that they are coming in Florida to pick up boxes to ship them to Greece. They said they will be in Florida on Saturday. We arranged to come and pick up staff from West Palm Beach. Yesterday they said we will be there on Saturday around 10am. So, we drove from Delray Beach to West Palm Beach in order to prepare everything on Saturday at 8 o clock in the morning. 10:30 am and no-one was there so we sent message if the truck is near. They said is on I -4 and 95, meaning in Orlando area 3-4 hours away. Red Flagg no1. They said 10am in West Palm Beach and by 10:30 am they are still in Orlando. We said call us when you are close. At 1:30 pm when we didn't have any answer, we sent a message. The owner said, can you bring them to Miami? Are you serious? we are 1:30-2 hours away from Miami. At the end the owner said that it is 60 feet truck and they had customers like us they could have cancer. Of course we said do not come. They charged 100 per box when other people charge 50. Completely unacceptable, unprofessional. Never...
