No matter which city I visit, shopping at Burlington is akin to a scavenger hunt. But the one in my hometown of East New York, Brooklyn is extra (as she should be!) and should post the caution sign: "Only experienced, Level 10 hunters allowed. Shop at your own risk!" Seriously, the best thing about the place is the thrill of the hunt and finding great, quality pieces to expand your wardrobe, but you're gonna work for it. Wear comfortable shoes & workout wear, leave your big coat & big purse in the car - you will work up a sweat getting through the too narrow, clothing strewn, obstacle-course aisles before you ever start looking for the item you're shopping for. If you're not gonna be there when they open, don't bother. The lines at the registers tend to get long quickly, I swear people must be sleeping there overnight because even when the store isn't crowded, there's a long line. Be forewarned: if you have toddlers that like to explore (because that's their job): keep 'em close. The racks are so densely packed that your babies will be right in front of you, but you won't see them - who needs that kind of stress?! The shoe selection seems to shrink & have less stock every time I go back. Limited, meh variety and seems like it's not a priority for management or they're doing away with the shoe section. You might find something, you might not. I try to avoid having my hopes dashed against the reality of disappointment, so I just bypass it altogether. The absolute best section of the store is the beauty/toiletries section. Finding the latest K-skincare items, health/beauty gadgets, and large sizes of haircare products is always better than waiting for amazon to deliver & the prices are...
Read morePoor management. "Couple of weeks ago we passed by this branch and my wife bought some stuff. One of them was a shoe that I tried in store and was not that comfortable and she thought I liked it. Today I went to return it, while I was talking with the cashier about the return an old lady from the staff approached and looked at to the shoe and told the cashier that this shoe was used and when I tried to speak to her she ignored me and left. I never took the shoe out of its shopping plastic bag and I left in the car the whole time. I was furious because she accused me and left and for the fact that they sell used shoes to the customers. The funny thing that they returned it for me and instead of making the customer happy about their customer service she mad me mad. I don't see any kind logic in provoking the customer though they accepted the return. one more thing when the cashier asked me for the phone number to look for my order record, she entered the phone number wrong twice and she told me that there is no record for the order but I noticed that and I asked her to try it again and I was looking at the screen, then she found the order. I do not think it was an accident. What is more, I asked for the store manger so I was told she is the old staff member that started the whole thing!!!!!!!" My advice check whatever they are selling, according the store manager they sell used item and I am sure the shoe I returned today will be on the display tomorrow.
Also, be careful when you are doing a return and double check if they told you that they cannot...
Read moreVery rude employees and horrible merchandise selection. Just came from Burlington this evening with my daughter. The first issue I encountered was an employee approaching me telling me I canât try a button up sweater on, I must go in a fitting room , even though their are mirrors at the end of every aisle. Next, I was looking through the racks for clothing, when suddenly an employee who had been watching me the whole time, runs up to me and says âsheâs pulling stuff off the racksâ referring to my daughter. Astonished that she had approached me, I said ok are you babysitting me, sheâs a child, she was simply looking at the clothes. My daughter is only 4 years old, and she was simply copying what she saw me doing which was scanning through the racks, which I had already seen her doing. She then turned to a customer which was very unprofessional and said âyou see what I told her, I didnât say anything wrongâ. The customer shopping now was brought into the conversation and continued to say â you have to control your kidsâ, now the employee proceeded to tag team me with a customer and said to me â I said it nice to youâ. Which Iâm sure in her finite mind she thought it was still justifiable to approach a customer simply because her child had dropped a shirt on the floor. I have never been witnessed a more unprofessional employee or shopping experience ever. They have lost...
