Please read if youâre a PARENT!!!
The branchâs main manager will never help you out when you actually need help. Looks down on people from lower socio-economic status. I recommend you pick another branch (the popular books are never there anyway).
ALSO!! DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT let your kid go to the teen center after school. They let them hang out there and they say itâs for kids to âlearn new thingsâ and âlearn craftsâ but in reality itâs a total circus out there. The workers do not care if kids are screaming, punching each other, smoking, etc. Itâs sad because parents think itâs the library so it should be safe for the kids to spend their time there when in reality itâs the opposite. If you wanna check for yourself, drop in at any time and wait a couple of hours. Why do you think the police car is basically parked there outside of library at this point? Itâs because theyâre needed there every. single. day. The employees arenât trained properly to deal with teenagers ( theyâre teens themselves!! no words hereâŚ) so by the end of the day that place turns into a TOTAL MESS. So please keep your children away from there. I even heard this branch was gonna close down in general because of how poorly the management was doing their job. Not surprised because the ladies at the desk mainly look at the clothing websites at any given point in time, and when you come up to them become really aggressive as if you interrupted something important...
Read moreIn my opinion, this place is nice, clean and quiet. Nothing amazing, but you can not expect too much from small and, probably, not very well funded library. There are two floors, boy's & and girls' restrooms on each floor. Drinkin water fountains. On the first floor, besides books and CD discs, you will find computers for open use and laptops for rent. The second floor has a small playground for little kids, tables with chairs, a big variety of books in foreign languages for any ages, and many, many more. Some librarians are not very friendly or even rude sometimes. But during our visit today, on August 22nd, 2024, at about 5-5:30 pm, we had a pleasure to meet a very nice and professional librarian lady on the second floor, who helped us to find what we came for! Unfortunately, I did not ask her name. I hope this library will be better funded because some of the shelves are partially empty or have old and...
Read moreThe passport office was excellent- but Iâd strongly recommend doing this to help your experience: -Look up the times theyâre open. Those times are when they ACCEPT the application forms at the front desk of the passport office, and give you a little buzzer. Once you get your buzzer, it may take a while (hours) until youâre turn. You can wait until way after the posted closing time. -I suggest filling out the paper forms AHEAD of time!! If you donât have a printer, pick up the forms from the basement of the library, right next to the door of the passport office. Coming with your forms already filled, and all your documents ready will help you not get stuck when they close and you havenât filled out the forms and given them in at the front desk! It seems obvious, but not for everyone (myself included;) 4 star rating because the elevator was broken and I needed to carry my baby and...
