Bad business. Tries to cut corners. Does not thoroughly explain her policy. No waivers were signed. No email confirmation was sent. Unprofessional, dishonest.

I scheduled a consultation appointment with Carissa via Instagram on April 7. As a first time customer, I expected to have the policy explained thoroughly to me before I sent any money. This was my first mistake, that in itself was a red flag. I went in that Thursday at 11 AM to speak with Carissa and we decided that I had to get laser tattoo removal on my eyebrows first before i start the service. After about 12 minutes into our consult I had to politely cut Carissa off because after she explained to me our plan moving forward, she started to talk about her personal life as part of our consultation. As if i cared about her personal life and/ or health issues. What’s the famous line?.. “leave your problems at the door”. Nevertheless, As I was leaving I spoke to her about the consultation fee briefly and she said that the $50 will go towards the price if I decided to go through with the service. I called Carissa a few days later after i decided not to go through with microblading yet because i had to lighten my eyebrows first(roughly 3 sessions, 8-10 weeks apart). I left a detailed message asking to please give me a call. It was not until later that day that, instead of calling me like I had asked, she texted me saying “Just received your message! Hope all is well”?. If a customer asks you to give them a call you give them a phone call out of respect. I understand that everyone is busy. Even if she had called a day or two later i would’ve much rather that than a lousy, lazy, meaningless text. As a business owner she should have let me know the policy when I booked it. All she said was “a consult fee” What is a the fee for?. Policy should have been told before/during and after i paid. You can’t tell someone to look at your policy on Instagram after the fact. You say it before. Nor did you say anything before I sent payment via Venmo that this was your policy which you should’ve done. no Text /no email. I was going to book with Carissa once my eyebrows were lightened but after the way she handled the situation i will no longer be in need of her services.

Complaining about how long it would take for you to thoroughly explain your policy to customers is not a valid reason. And Saying “you aren’t going to argue over 50 dollars and that you were going to send it “ yet you still have not- is bad business and is not going to get you far in a SMALL neighborhood.

I had a lash lift and tint done the first time I saw Carissa. She is sweet,professional and knows her stuff! My eyelashes came out beautifully and I never had any issues with them. Affordable and lasted a long time. My next visit with her was my spray tan! Omg!! I had one done the weekend of my bridal shower. I was nervous because I am so white and didn’t want to have an orange look. No need to be nervous. She gave me a subtle glow that came out amazing. And it lasted for almost two weeks! Again very quick and professional. I was in and out within 15 minutes. Great for a date night. Next spray tan was my wedding. She went a little darker which she suggested and I’m glad she did. Came out wonderful and my pictures were great! My color really highlighted everything. Again on my honeymoon a week later it was still there! My husband couldn’t believe it. I searched the web and my facebook network to find the perfect microblading artist and I finally found the perfect one - Carissa Star!. I've gone to 2 other places before to have microblading/tattooing on my eyebrows and she is by far the BEST! My eyebrows were losing its color and turning reddish, I was in need of someone to correct the color. She was super friendly and felt a connection immediately. I felt comfortable and satisfied with her very detailed consultation and was amazed at the perfect color she picked for me.

As a young teenager I would get my eyebrows waxed over the years. They were so thin and I had a complex with how they looked. Carissa did such an awesome job and I am one satisfied customer.
