About a year ago, I decided to try IM=X Pilates Middle Village, and I quickly became hooked. The transformative impact on my body, together with a newfound strength, made it impossible not to become addicted. IM=X has become my second home, and the credit goes to the exceptional owner, Slavka. Right from my initial class, I was captivated by the inclusive atmosphere created by Slavka and her exceptional instructors: Sarah, Luna and Sorrel. Although, I have not yet had the pleasure of taking classes with the newer instructors, I'm sure I will grow to love them as well.
The welcoming vibe, together with the warmth and expertise of Slavka and her team, makes each visit is a delightful experience. The studio reflects Slavka’s perfectionism, evident in its impeccable cleanliness and tasteful décor. It gives off a warmth that makes it inviting, and every detail shows the pride Slavka takes in her establishment.
Beyond the aesthetics, Slavka and her instructors deliver outstanding classes with genuine care for their students. The top-notch instructors, consistently knowledgeable and pleasant, guarantee a fulfilling workout in every session. IM=X is not an ordinary workout studio. The classes are always challenging and exciting, as Slavka and her team work hard to keep them fresh and effective. You never know what Slavka and each of the instructors are going to pull out of their bag of tricks. We work hard and enjoy a few laughs... it truly gives off a family vibe.

It’s hard to believe I’ve only been part of the studio for a little over 2 ½ years—it truly feels like my second home. Slavka and all her top-notch instructors are more than just teachers to me; they feel like friends and family!!
The studio itself is beautiful. It’s always spotless, but more than that, it’s warm, welcoming, and has a comforting, homey vibe that makes you want to keep coming back.
The main reason I joined was for the classes—and they’ve been fantastic. I’ve always struggled with a weak core, but now, in my 60s, I can proudly say that’s no longer the case!
No matter your fitness level or any physical limitations, you can thrive here. There are classes for everyone, and each instructor is caring, attentive, and truly in tune with your needs. Once you begin, you’ll be amazed at how much stronger your body feels.

I’ve worked out in the past, but staying consistent has always been a challenge, especially when the experience wasn’t enjoyable or there was no real accountability. I wanted to start pilates hoping to find a space to decompress from my hectic work life, and even after just a couple weeks, I’ve already noticed some positive changes. While it’s well known that exercise can help with anxiety, I’ve found something even more valuable: the ability to quiet my thoughts and stay present by focusing on the workout and following the instructions. That level of concentration helps me feel more grounded, relaxed, and mentally clear. It’s almost like meditation, but you’re actively moving, which makes it even better because it can help regulate your body’s stress response. If you’re looking for some relief from anxiety (or simply need a healthy outlet) I highly recommend giving this a try. One thing I really appreciate is the flexibility on days when anxiety hits hard, you can check for openings and see if you can sign up last-minute (no guarantees though), which makes it accessible and helpful for if you know you’re having a hard time.
