IN A NUTSHELL, SHE IS UNPROFESSIONAL, DISRESPECTFUL, UNSTABLE, AND EMOTIONALLY IMMATURE. SHE SHOULD NOT BE WORKING CLOSE TO KIDS.
We booked a reservation for Sunday at 11 am and were in front of the hairdresser only to find that there was no one in the place. That side of the mall was completely dark, and all the stores were closed. So, we assumed that the place was closed, and the online booking system just messed it up and left. Then she charged our card for not showing up. We emailed that we actually came but did not see anyone and rescheduled for Friday. When I arrived there, she started cutting my younger kid’s hair, and I told her that we had a reservation for Sunday but had to reschedule because the store was closed. She could have said that maybe we came a little earlier and her store does not open any earlier than the reservation time, and that would be the end of the conversation. But that’s not what happened. The moment I talked, she went hysterical and lost control completely. Her exact response was, “Oh my God, why would you bring that up? I already told your husband. I turned the lights on at 11 am sharp, and you did not come. You came and saw the lights off, and you do what? Just leave? Can’t you just wait?” She implied several times that I was lying. I said, "Why would we wait if the store is closed?" She went even louder and louder, yelling and screaming that this is her business and that’s how she runs it. If I do not like it, I can just go. And she added, “You know what, you’d better leave.” She stopped cutting my little kid’s hair and said I have to take my kids elsewhere. I told her to lower her volume at least 5 times and that she has no right to treat us like that. She said, “I do not like the way you are talking to me” and called security to kick us out: a mom and two little kids. Then she charged me for the undone haircut, and while I was waiting to get my credit card back, she kept screaming at us to “leave.” She was shaking the whole time. She even talked over the kids. My kids were in shock when we left, and I had to explain to them that her reaction was about her, not about them. They did not do anything wrong to be treated like that. I got back in the car, booked a haircut for my older kid at Kiddy Kutz. We were done in 30 mins and paid less than half the price she charged us. She needs professional help to regulate her reactions and should not be holding scissors around a kid until she learns how to...
Read moreWe have been taking our four year old to a regular barbershop since he started getting haircuts. After one too many crooked cuts, we decided to try the Fade Room since they specialize in kids cuts. The shop is welcoming and has a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Our son chose to sit in a car chair, though there are regular chairs as well. Casey gave him magnatiles to play with, put on kid-friendly music, and there was a TV in the mirror for him to watch. Casey listened to my issues with his past haircuts and gave him his best haircut yet. She clearly is used to working with squirming kids and never once asked him to sit still. When we were leaving, they gave my son a bag with some snacks and a little book. Though the cut was slightly more expensive than what we've been paying at the regular barbershop, it was definitely worth the...
Read moreThe absolute BEST! I have been bringing my son here since he was a baby. Even though they’ve relocated, we will follow The Fade Room wherever they go! My son has special needs and hates having his head/hair touched. Casey is so patient and yet so fast at the same time. She completes a scissor cut on his curly hair in no time at all. Despite my son resisting the whole time it always comes out flawless. He is getting used to the process and is a bit more tolerant with each haircut. Casey is helping him get used to the clippers a little at a time as well since he is...
