Klan Destino — Restaurant in New York

The food was VERY VERY Salty. The drinks were good but the food was not satisfying. we ordered Guacamole tropical which was amazing ( had alot of thick big onions) so if you get heart burn avoid this dish. But it was good however, the minimal chips they gave you was ridiculous. They designed it in a circle ...like i totally get food can be art, but if your charging me 16 bucks for aguacado, forget the art give me more chips! Then we ordered Lomo Klandestino Sandwhich which was Beyond salty. I couldn't even eat it. My husband and i took 1 bite and it felt like i bit into a salt bar. it was not appetizing. I ordered milanga sandwhich which.....was HUGE. I mean we are talking a hero bread style. I couldn't even eat it. i took one bite, and just ate the chicken breast left all that bread aside and the mayonesa Casera ( too much salt ). Over all our experience was very disappointing. we spent roughly $100 in sandwiches and 2 drinks. My daughter got a $ 8 burger ( had red peppers) and fries. When the waiter took the food, he noticed the burgers there and said too much food? We said yes and salty. Rather than asking why the food was left behind or the chef addressing his "art" we simply got the bill. Never...

So I went finally to this restaurant that I have wanted to come in my neighborhood and was so disappointed. It is sad that I went for the first time to have a drink and eat and the guy in charge just said, It’s only you so please know that when others come I will have to move you. How rude!!!! He said he would put me in the bar area. Well I can’t go up any high chair because I have bad knees. Then the waiter explained when I asked about what food they had , said eat the Argentinian food, and I tried to ask about tacos and he left before I had a chance to ask. Also rude!!! It’s a shame that I went in for the first time and my last time. I walked out and am at my neighborhood Colombian place, Rico’s Chicken, that always treats me great!!!! So my opinion of this business Klan Destino is they have rude people serving!!!! Don’t know about food or drinks because they wanted me out!!! Bad service all around!!!!! So Klan Destino in Moddle Village, sucks!!!! It should remain as it is called Klan Destino, hidden, because that’s what it does!!!! Not my loss, yours!!!! Sad part is they were Latino, just like me!!! I am ashamed of Latinos like them that give all of us...

As soon as you walk in, this place captivates you with the decor and contrast lighting. There is a good amount of sitting, choice between the bar and sit-down tables. The staff was attentive and friendly.

I did not have much time for a full on entrée so I ended up ordering a pineapple martini, the maduro canoero, and yuca fries.

Pineapple Martini: 🍸🍍 This was all I expected and much more. The pineapple was refreshing with a hint of sweetness - not too overpowering though. And as any other martini, this martini did the job.

Maduro Canoero: 🛶🍌 The sweet and savory combination composed of stripped meat and cheese served over sweet plantain - uyyyy que ricooo! The “canoero” comes from the way it is served, inside the sweet plantain skin (see image) - ¡genial! This was by far, the highlight of the night!

Yuca Fries: 🍟 Yuca fries are always a hit or miss in my books. I love seeing it on the menu and when I do, I have to get ‘em. They were crispy and perfectly cut. It was served with a hot pink sauce - both complimented one another very well.
