I can't say enough about the incredible experience I've had at Cornerstone Thai Boxing.
Coach Youyung is an absolute gem, his passion for Muay Thai is remarkable as he puts his heart into teaching every session. Coach Youyung doesn't just teach technique; he inspires, motivates, and pushes you to be the best version of yourself. His dedication to their craft and his students is truly admirable. No matter your skill level, Coach Youyung takes the time to understand your strengths and areas for improvement, offering personalized guidance every step of the way.
What sets this gym apart is the sense of community Coach Youyung has cultivated. It's more than just a place to train; it's a family. Fellow students are supportive, encouraging, and always willing to lend a hand. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned fighter, you'll feel right at home here.
The facilities are top-notch, with well-maintained equipment and a clean, welcoming environment. But it's the people that make this gym truly special, and Coach Youyung is the heart and soul of it all.
If you're looking for a Muay Thai gym that prioritizes skill development, camaraderie, and genuine passion for the sport, look no further than Cornerstone Thai Boxing. I am endlessly grateful to Coach Youyung and the entire team for helping me grow not only as a fighter but as a person. I can't recommend them highly enough.
Trust me, you'll be amazed at the transformation when you reflect on where you were just a few months ago. Take the leap and give this school a try, you...
Read moreCornerstone is an AMAZING gym! I've been training at cornerstone since may 2021 - Coach Youyung and Coach Kurt are excellent coaches! When teaching class, they provide their insight, knowledge and context of the technique so you understand how and where to apply it when you're sparring. They both (along with the other coaches at this gym) create a safe and inclusive environment for people at all levels to thrive and feel like they're getting the most out of the class. Coach Youyung adds such a personal touch to his work, he knows all of us by our name and makes an effort to make everyone feel welcomed and supported at the gym. The energy that the coaches bring make you want to come to the gym and try your best. What I love most about the Coaches here is how they provide feedback through strength based methods! They tell you how you can improve your technique versus how you do it wrong so you don't feel self conscious if you're new to the sport like I was. I've met so many cool people through this gym. Its a great investment in the queens community and in yourself to join this gym and try Muay Thai. The gym itself is well kept, clean and there are always great events to attend. Joining Cornerstone has been the best investment I've made and would recommend to...
Read moreI started at Cornerstone in Feb 2022, about 10 months ago. I was nervous about starting Muay Thai because I was very out of shape, having been sedentary for over 2 years. I emailed the school with my concerns, and they wrote back encouraging me to join and reassured me that they'd help me along. I did a trial class and enjoyed it so much that I signed up that day!
Muay Thai is really difficult, and I'm always drenched by the end of class. But Coach Youyung and Coach Kurt are very encouraging and supportive. They'll take the time to give you feedback and tell you when you're doing good.
Starting at a new gym always gives me some anxieties because there's no way to know if you'll like the vibe before you go. I'm so glad I started at Cornerstone! People are so friendly and welcoming. When you tell them you're new, they're very excited for you and very encouraging. It's a very low-ego school, which I absolutely love.
Also, if you're a woman+, I super encourage you to join! We have a group of lovely (kickass) ladies who would love to have you. You don't have to worry about feeling alone.
All this to say, I super recommend...
