Have been to pelicans in sunny side and k town should have just went there instead of going to all the way in flushing. The food was very basic is the customer service that i got to observed was in different level and experience. It will not be fair to say all staff was rude. Customers came in happy like holiday mood was seated. Bottle of water came with no glasses the guy server kept asking if we were ready but didn't observed the no glasses on the table for water for 5-10 min and still had to ask for the glasses. Food was brought but no utensil to eat with when asked for utensil they scream across the restaurant in a very rudely manner wait. She even screamed at in coming customer saying no seat when there was enough seat for 3 more customer in the restaurant and to make it look worst one of the staff was with the customer she didn't have to scream across the floor like that. Soup was brought in with no serving spoon, waited for like good 5 mins to see they realized that we didn't have serving spoon i guess the server was excepting us to just look at the soup go cold. When the served brought the utensil she just dumped it on the table not even on the napkin that she brought and no serving spoon again. So when trying to get the attention of the server she scream across the floor say "WAIT" in such a rude manner. So when finally the serving spoon arrived. And out of no where this server just started to throw so much attitude and the other male server like came in saying the customer giving problem to the staff there and the served called the customer "Bitch" like really. You work in hospitality industry that is not how you talk to a customer. Male server was like lets take it outside like hello............. people come to eat not fight you are have a bad day don't throw shades at the customer. Not all staff was rude like these two Steven and Silica i don't know if that is the really name but that whats the name manger give us. if i could could give 0 stars just for these to staff . The manger and other female staff was very calm and helpful. OMG after seeing this sorry Flushing Pelicana Chicken not coming back...
Read morePelicana chicken is a Korean chicken restaurant, for those of you who don't know Korean fried chicken is, it’s actually double fried, a first fry and then dipped in spices/seasonings and fried again which seals the flavor inside. So even though this is a Korean chicken and beer spot, it is infused with the American culture and will be a good place for newbies. Their chicken was great. Tteokbokki was great. Fries were good. Their prices are a little more expensive than other chicken and beer places in the area. The chicken is fried to order so plan on ordering an appetizer or two while waiting for your chicken. We had a platter which had both the garlic and the hot versions of the seasonings and both were well seasoned and very crispy. Atmosphere is the reason I would recommend this place. Reason why I titled this Korean-American fusion is because of the actual place. Their bar area is like a typical American sports bar. Most of the chicken and beer bars I've been to just have tables without an actual bar area. Also TVs would just show Korean music videos and no real shows. At this place, they actually show sports and all that and play American music. It's a great place for a group of friends to visit, sit around a platter of chicken, drink and chat. Although children are welcome & they did have a high chair it's really not a family restaurant. Take out is available but again you will wait about 20 minutes for your order to be cooked if you're not ordering at...
Read moreFood was above average. The fries with truffle oil and calamari were delicious. The chicken to me was just like any other Korean Bon Chon chicken but very juicy. The special thing about this place is all the side sauce that you can order for an extra dollar or two (go with original garlic if you must). My friends and I had the ice cream beer (grapefruit, mango and orange creme) which I say is a must try. I would give the food here 3.5 - 4 stars but the reason I gave this place 5 stars total and would recommend this place is because of the atmosphere along with the excellent service. We came with a group of 6 which was consider a large group since this place is kind of small. There was a 4 seats table opened and a couple who sat at the next table. The awesome server waited for another random table to leave then asked the couple if they could move to the random table so he could push the tables together and have all 6 of us sit. Its hard to find an establishment who would put their customers first over business! And because it was my friends birthday he also gave us 2 bottles of Soju on the house and asked if we were still hungry so he could give us some food on the house as well!! Would definitely recommend and...
