While I don't like to complain, I feel like at this time there is absolutely nothing else I can do because the management just doesn't care.
Since they tick like slum lords I think it's important to warn people online.
I live in one of their buildings on 46th street in Queens and they have a yard and kids are not supposed to play there. Yet, the issue is extreme - Saturdays and Sundays ball games are on starting 8am and ending well into the dark. Weekdays it's 3-10pm. Kids playing basketball, baseball, soccer, football and tennis as well as group ball games with up to 10 people (max I've seen) and screaming in the process. I'm working from home and starting 3pm workdays I have to use ear plugs on top of closing the window. Unfortunately this is the only room I can work from because this is an apartment-share living situation. There is a sign hanging saying "no ball games allowed". If you explain to kids that it's annoying they ignore it. You can't call cops on them and the management doesn't care. I have called the management about 10 times within the last 4 months but they literally do nothing. NOTHING. They don't care, period. I almost got kicked in face with a ball by accident because the kids use the door entrances as goal posts. I've seen other people almost being kicked in their faces by baseball or tennis balls. It's outrageous.
Besides this annoyance I also find that building security is shabby and their entrance doors are faulty. I've seen people from street to go on the rooftop to smoke weed there. That is because the janitor or someone else leaves the door wide open every morning.
If you are renting from them be prepared to have no chance to chill out on weekends or afternoons or evenings. Also be prepared with a low quality maintenance. Their super is somewhat creepy, too. They are a good landlord if you never need anything from them and if you leave early and come late and if you don't spend weekends at home. It is a very bad choice if you want to work from home.
This situation also tells about who lives in these buildings - basically, recent immigrants with kids and none of them has any manners or public behavioral culture so the tenants they have can be described as "non-criminal thugs". Also, since they rent to Latinos be prepared for non-stop salsa til 6am every single weekend. And guess what, cops don't care so yeah, on top of spending afternoons with earplugs I also sleep with earplugs every weekend.
I can't wait...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been living in one of their apartment at the Woodside location for almost 8 years plus. Its been couple years now our ceiling started to drip water that was collected on the roof from the rainfall (we live on the fifth floor). Though we requested the management multiple times to fix it since the dripping started to get out of control. Even though their maintenance staff came over many times, the issue hasnāt resolved at all. There are now even more water leaking spots. Even after the supervisor of the building changed there hasnāt been no action at our issue.
Last time they checked on us was couple months ago (end of May of 2021) when they told us they will have to recolor the ceiling but that didnāt even happen till now. The situation got worse when we woke up this morning (last night hurricane water) with dripping from other new spots of ceiling especially on the top of the stove. This is ridiculous!!!!
Constantly cleaning after those water drips and anxious about water might drip from other spots at night. This is not the best surrounding one might want to live while paying for the rent. One of the prime reason we didnāt renew our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am writing this review with immense disappointment and frustration at cosmopolitan. It is mid-winter, and despite numerous complaints and requests, the company has failed to provide adequate heating in our apartment. The temperature inside is intolerably cold, making it not only uncomfortable but also a health hazard, especially considering the freezing outdoor temperatures. Repeated pleas for assistance have been met with apathy and excuses, showing a clear lack of concern for tenant welfare. It's appalling how a basic necessity like heating is being neglected, making our living situation unbearable. This isn't just a matter of discomfort; it's about the basic human right to a safe and habitable living environment. I urge potential renters to reconsider their options before choosing cosmopolitan associates. The lack of heat in the midst of a harsh winter is inexcusable and reflects poorly on the company's commitment to its tenants. It's a situation no one should have to endure.
