ZERO STARS - If you don't wear a short bikini, you will be harassed by the parks dept and lifeguard to leave. I arrived on Saturday evening around 4:35 to enjoy the pool. The park dept personnel stopped me telling me that I needed to have on a "bathing suit." Mind you; I had on wet suit bottom due to my beliefs and a plain white t-shirt OVER my bathing suit top. I went to sit on the pool deck and dip my feet before getting in. I was sitting there for 2 mins when I noticed the park dept personnel running over to complain to the lifeguard that I wasn't wearing the proper pool attire. He also complained that I had on AirPods (listening to a guided meditation before I jumped in the pool). The NYC Parks Department website clearly states that a plain white t-shirt is OK and approved to wear over your bathing suit top.
So to reiterate, if you're wearing a wetsuit bottom, bathing suit top under a plain white t-shirt, you are not welcome to enjoy the facilities. Unfortunately, it seems that this location isn't tolerant of people who opt to wear conservative swimwear. NYC Pools and Parks - do better!
