Alright, so picture this: you’re walkin’ through the West Village, mindin’ your own business, maybe thinkin’ about pizza or somethin’ important, and BAM — there it is. The apartment building from “Friends.”
I don’t usually walk anywhere unless there’s a sandwich or food involved … but for this? Yeah, I hoofed it. (There was promise of L’Industrie pizza after.)
Was it worth it? Ehhh. I mean, you can’t go inside. You can’t see Monica’s purple walls or sit in the big orange couch at Central Perk. It’s literally just… the outside of a building. Like, you look up, you point, you say “OH MY GOD, IT’S THE FRIENDS BUILDING!!” like Janice, you snap a picture, and then you leave and argue over where to get lunch.
Ross would’ve said, “It’s a paleontological marvel of pop culture history!” Rachel would’ve been like, “I’m gonna need a coffee and a discount on these shoes for this.” Monica would’ve started deep cleaning the sidewalk. Chandler would’ve gone full sarcasm mode: “Could this BE any more underwhelming?” and Joey would’ve said, “How you doin’?” to a statue and moved on.
Final Verdict: If you’re a real Friends freak, yeah, you gotta do it. It’s like a rite of passage. If you’re expecting to actually see the apartments or have Gunther pop out and judge your latte art skills, maybe lower your expectations a teensy bit.
3/5 but still no regrets. Would walk by again tho and pretend I...
