One of my to-do's while in NYC for the day was to see the Stonewall Inn, which is how I stumbled across this park. I believe it takes up the entire triangular "block" that fronts the Stonewall, with just a tiny part of it that's used as a park. A black wrought iron fence surrounds the park that sports a cement block floor. A few benches and bronze statues that are oddly painted white (and looks unfinished) are the stars of the show. The perimeter is filled with flowers, foliage, and trees. An entourage of police officers, guns ready, were standing guard between the Park and the Stonewall due to the current sign of our times. How sad.

Christopher Park is located in Greenwich Village, and the park is maintained by the Parks Department of the City of New York and the National Park Service.
The park sits across the street from the Stonewall Inn, and it is probably as old as the Stonewall Inn itself.
