Poor management. Nothing ever really gets fixed or you have to wait a long time for things to be fixed. Elevators constantly breaking down. Water always being turned off for poor plumbing with no prior notice. Very low water pressure. Always have clogged drains. Smoke smell in hallways. No one ever returns the package carts when they use them. Too many people have dogs in the building. Some dogs are HUGE and some people have more than 1 dog. This makes it very hard to get into the 2 elevators used for 32 floors, especially during rush hours. The dogs pee in the elevator and in halls which never gets cleaned properly. Adults allow small kids to run around and play in the gym while you’re working out. OR other people who don’t have access to the gym hang outside the gym door and wait for someone to swipe their key so they can sneak in behind that person. (🤬Especially when you paid for the gym membership and they didn’t). Lots of mentally ill, low income residents. Some really don’t care about following building rules and being courteous. This building is run like the PROJECTS which includes some of the people in it. It sucks for those people at the top tier of rental price. There are those who pay a lot of rent and then there are those who pay almost nothing and don’t care about anything!!!! It’s terrible trying to squeeze yourself into an elevator in the morning trying to get to work with a bunch of smelly people and lots of dogs, some of them have no jobs and are just going out to walk their dogs or going out for a cigarette!! HUNTERS POINT SOUTH CROSSING MANAGEMENT needs to examine some of the rental applicants a little more closely before they let them into the building. And ENFORCE THE...
Read moreThis building is poorly managed and terribly maintained. The elevators are always out of service for weeks to months at a time causing overcrowding in the lobby and a safety issue for residents, especially those with disabilities. Furthermore, the building amenities, facilities, and apartment heating and appliances are in constant need of repair. The hallways and storage units have no air circulation or temperature control which make summer months unbearable. The design and maintenance of common areas such as furnishings, carpeting, and wallpaper are all scuffed, torn, and peeling. Management doesn’t reply to emails or show any sense of urgency or care for the quality, care, or maintenance of the building, or quality of life for its residents. The other buildings along the waterfront are far more superior. Related Management doesn’t maintain this building with the same level of care as it’s others because it is a city-subsidized “affordable housing”...
Read moreI was living in a studio, which had plenty of room for a single person (2 large closets, full kitchen, big bathroom). You get a lot of natural light, even if you're opposite of the waterfront. Gym was small, but had enough equipment to get a light workout (treadmills, dumbbells 5lbs - 60lbs). A lot of schools and daycares opening in the area so maybe that's a plus to you.
The issue started when I started seeing some weird bugs between my clothes and walls. I moved here in the winter and as the weather got warmer I started seeing more. I lived here for 5 years (2015 - 2020) and there was an issue with Silverfish insects on the 5th floor which never got resolved for me. The building sent pest control multiple times, but the issue was never resolved. The heating/cooling unit sometimes get loud due design, metal on metal vibration.
This review is based solely on my experience while living at Hunter's Point South Crossing for...
