My now fiance and I went into this store to look at possible engagement rings. There was one woman there who was trying to help us and she was the only person working in the store. I ended up falling in love with a ring that I saw and my boyfriend decided to purchase it. The woman processed the transaction and then sized me and said oh my god when she was sizing my finger because according to her I was a half size bigger than what I thought I was (which was very rude by the way). My fiance would have to wait for the ring to be resized which would take a few weeks as per their system and policy etc. Overall, I felt that the process from picking out rings to finishing was a little rushed given that she was alone. FYI my fiance was going to propose in a surprise so I had no idea when or how it would happen. A few weeks later he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes but as soon as I put on the ring I could tell it was WAY TOO BIG. I shook my hand to see if the ring would hold up and it flew off my finger. So not even one hour after being proposed to my fiance and I were heading back to this location. I was already upset. I speak to a representative there and she agreed that the ring was too big. When I asked whether the resizing could be expedited given that this was their representatives fault i was told with an attitude that even though it was her fault, it wouldnt be fair to other customers waiting for their rings. Now, If my fiance went in there alone and picked the wrong size I think that is something completely different but I was incorrectly sized by their sales rep because she was in a rush. I was so disgusted because i felt like okay we just spent $3500 on this ring but Im sure if my ring was over $10k I would have been treated a little better. Nonetheless a sale is a sale and nobody should have that said to them after having to return an engagement ring not even an hour after being proposed to. I told my fiance to do whatever he wanted and I walked away. So we dropped the ring off and now were in the process of waiting another two weeks for the ring to come back. I truly feel like I didnt get to enjoy my engagement because of them. Their customer service is subpar to say the least. If i ever need my ring to be fixed, ill find another location with better reviews to go to. My advice to anyone considering to go here is to go on a weekday when its generally empty and if you see theres only one person there or they dont acknowledge you as soon as you walk in then dont even bother wasting your time. Everything people said about this location is true. The jewelry is beautiful but the customer service is horrible. In hindsight ring shopping on fordham road would have probably...
Read moreLove my ring but very dissatisfied with their service. I recently brought my engagement ring in for its first inspection and I asked that it be resized. Upon inspection the woman noticed a stone on the side was missing and said they’d replace it. Fast forward 2 weeks later, I pick up the ring which fit perfectly, however, the following day while looking at the ring something was off and it was hard to see, but I realized that they hadn’t replaced the stone and in fact an extra stone was missing. So my fiancé went back to the store and told them the issue. They apologized and said they’d put a “rush” on it. Well it’s now the end of the month and still no ring. We were never given an ETA as promised and when we attempted to get one they basically said they don’t know. We called Kay’s customer service who made a note of the mishap and told us the ring should’ve been inspected when we went to retrieve it and also gave us an ETA which was another 2 weeks from the day we brought the ring back which meant an entire month without my ring. That’s completely unacceptable!
Update: Got my ring back after they “replaced” the stone. My fiancé went to pick it up, and the woman supposedly checked it under the magnification machine and gave it the okay. When he comes home, I examine the ring myself and see that the 2nd stone which wasn’t missing when I originally brought the ring in is still missing! So then they decide that the ring is “defective” and needs to be replaced entirely, when it’s more likely that the staff at their repair shop is incompetent and their staff at the store lack training and attention to detail. On the day that my replacement ring was supposed to be picked up we called the store who then told us it wasn’t going to be there for another few days which is NOT what the MANAGER originally PROMISED!! I’m so frustrated with this place, words can’t describe it!! I WISH I CAN JUST GET A REFUND!! They have taken away from what was supposed to be such a happy time and ruined it with this back and forth.

Read moreGET WORKERS WHO ACTUALLY WANTS TO WORK AND KNOWS HOW TO PUT CUSTOMERS FIRST. Drove 30 minute to pick up my order, i called a head of time letting them know I’ll be arriving by 8:56, i got there by 8:58. The store closes at 9, the lady that was working there on 03/11/2024 around 8:58pm kept saying the store is close but, Kay jewelers close at 9, so if you have a customer showing up at 8:58pm just to pick up his order, you have to serve the customer, on top of that all the jewelry stores were still open, pandora was still open which is across from them. The lady was A African American woman on the heavy side. I am also African American, so I am not discriminating her, simply describing her because I didn’t get her name, don’t want someone else getting into trouble for her negligence. When i stated over and over again that the place say it close at 9, She started laughing at me with her co-worker, catching an attitude. I work as a correction officer, I usually work 16-18 hours a day so taking time out of my day to pick something up is time I could have been doing something else. I will be calling corporate Tomorrow hopefully they take the appropriate action. KAY JEWELERS CLOSES AT 9 SO IF A PAID CUSTOMER COMES INTO YOUR STORE AT 8:58pm, YOU HAVE TO SERVE THAT CUSTOMER. THE LADY THAT WAS WORKING THAT DAY NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND SHE DOESN'T OWN KAY JEWELERS, SHE JUST A WORKER THAT MEANS AS A WORKER YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE POLICIES OF KAY JEWELERS, CLOSING THERE STORE EARLY WHILE A PAID CUSTOMER IS TRYING TO PICK UP HIS ORDER IS DEFINITELY A NO NO. I spent thousands of dollars with Kay jewelers until there’s some type of disciplinary action, I will never spend a dime...
