I am pleased to write an extremely strong review in support of Derrick Taylor at the Lumber Liquidators in Astoria, NY. I began communicating with Derrick when I inquired about redoing the hardwood flooring in my NYC apartment. Since that time, I have witnessed his overwhelming high level of customer service and willingness to go above and beyond for his customers.

From the beginning, Derrick made the process very easy for me by very clearly explaining my flooring options, answering my questions with extreme knowledge, and therefore, minimizing the time I spent trying to navigate this complex process on my own. When my hardwood flooring choice was unavailable, Derrick took the time to quickly locate it from another store and get it shipped to NYC in a timely manner. He also confirmed with me that I received all the necessary materials before installation, tracked the materials for me when I was unable to locate something, and followed up both during and after installation to make sure the job was done to my complete satisfaction. I should also note that he worked around my personal schedule and imminent baby’s due date to make sure the job was done as quickly and efficiently as possible. I never doubted his ability to organize, schedule, and get the work done according to my requests and needs. All the while, Derrick actually made this process enjoyable for me with his positive, enthusiastic, and friendly personality.

Derrick Taylor is highly professional and will no doubt continue to be the star in his position at Lumber Liquidators by bringing a wealth of experience and high-level customer service to his clients. Any company/organization with Derrick as their employee will have won the lottery, as he proved to be the most hardworking and caring professional. Shaf is the man (and s/o to Mike). Prior to my first in person visit, I had called to inquire about inventory of discontinued flooring I was seeking to repair in a very tight timeframe. I had limited knowledge on subflooring and processes of vinyl, laminate, hardwood, engineered woods given by various flooring contractors who provided me estimates all across the board. He thoughtfully answered my questions and weighed out the pros/cons of the seemingly endless options I had in attempts to remedy water damage to said flooring - replacing with parquet, fixing only a portion, or completely doing over the entire unit. I finally went to visit LL where I narrowed down from 10 to 2 options and Shaf was extremely knowledgeable, understanding, and patient -catering to my indecisiveness and time crunch. Of course I changed my mind the next day and he went above and beyond to ensure I got the wood I wanted in the timeframe/method I needed it delivered. Of course I underestimated sq footage and had to order more.. the product itself TBD but every time it's a pleasant experience...

6/15/22 - What a terrible first experience! The young male at the front yelled at me to leave because it was time to close soon. The young lady was on her phone. He didn’t bother to get off his seat to help me. I felt like I was bothering them. I really wanted the products but I have heard similar horror stories. But I went back -

7/1/22 - I went back and was delightfully surprised by Abigail who was very helpful. The next day I went back and found Tiffany who was extremely friendly. Then came Derrick - and he went above and beyond to help us out with everything. He took his time to answer and explain all our questions with a so much patience.
