Sooooo I rarely have free time to get my nails done because I work long hours and my second job on my days off. I had a major work event and I needed to get my manicure desperately! Because I live uptown in the Bronx, I thought let me check to see what nail salon was open past normal business hours. Nail Polish Studio was it. I looked up images, and read reviews and thought to give it a chance.

Upon arriving, I realized the Salon was under construction. I walked in I was greeted by Shameeka the business owner who quickly asked to pardon the appearance of the salon that they were under renovations but still taking appointments. I shared with Shameeka what I was looking to do and pleaded with her because it was late and didn’t know if I would still have a chance to get my nails done.

She kindly took my information and promised me that they would service me even if it was late. The nail tech was working on someone else’s nails and would be another 30-40 mins before she was done. I asked to see if I could go grab a bite and come back, Shameeka obliged and told me she would text me as soon as it was my time.

I received the text and came back around the estimated time she had forecasted. I could tell Yeily the nail tech was already tired given that it was late and I was her last client but she greeted me with a smile and not once made me feel rushed. She took her time and asked me what style I wanted of gel manicure, was able to perfect my designs (I’m a perfectionist). There was a willingness to make sure I was happy.

Shameeka kept me entertained with good conversation and made sure I was well taken care of. She shared her passion about working with people, how she loves her staff, and how much she does for the community. She is sad that I had to see the salon under construction but promised me once it was done, it would be a place to be.

I highly recommend this salon to anyone in the neighborhood or anyone who needs a quick last minute fix. The nail tech has great hygiene and was skilled at design. The owner Shameeka will definitely make you feel at home. Leading through service is lacking in today’s businesses but coming here was a reminder that there are still great and humble business owners willing to do right by their customers.

This place looks amazing but it isn’t. The owner looks like shes on something, she seems to zone out a lot as well have random energy bursts. She doesn’t even know how to schedule appointments; she has multiple people waiting for an appointment they made before and now they are put behind people who walk in. I saw people have to wait almost 3 hours before someone started on them because “she came late” but already spoke on the phone with the owner that she’ll be a couple minutes late, they didn’t have to give her spot away. Along with that she really does judge a book by its cover depending on how you look or dress she’ll charge you differently AND PRICES CHANGE EVERYDAY YOU WALK IN she’s told friends of mine different prices for the same set just because of how they looked. Today it could be $65 for a regular set and tomorrow it can be $120 for that same set. The owner as well doesn’t know how to speak to people no matter how or what you explain to her she tries to be right even when she shouldn’t, or she tries to flip it on you so she gaslights you until you give her the stepping stool. Love, love, love this place. I’m traveling and was desperate for a pedicure. As I searched reviews of places near me, I noticed I was well past due for a new acrylic set. Made an appointment for the next day and found my way uptown to this adorable salon.

Had the best ever pedicure by Ring, who is the mistress of the toes. This was without a doubt someone who knows what they are doing. She was super friendly, gentle and precise.

This was followed by a new set of acrylics by Samantha. A very charming, articulate and talented young lady who cares about making her clients desires her priority. Artistic isn’t a strong enough description to describe her work.

Shameeka made me feel like a Queen. Her attention to detail and concern for the well being of her patrons is becoming a lost art in the area of customer service. Professional, polite and patient is only the tip of the ice berg of this business professional.
