Honestly, I wish I could give it a 0. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. I came to New York to do a girls trip with my sister and our friend so when we saw this hotel, we thought it looked good. The pictures are very deceiving. We arrived to a very rude front desk employee who made me pay cash for our early check in. There was a sign that said they took card but he was swearing that the sign is wrong. When we got to the elevator it smelled horrible. The button to go up and down was destroyed. It also had wires sticking out. Our room was very dirty and had a lot of issues. I laid in the bed for a bit and started to feel itchy. I found bug bites all over my legs. None of the plugs were working and there was weird stains all over the walls. There was also a power circuit box in the room which is crazy to see because this isn’t a thing that should be in guest rooms. We felt super unsafe and uncomfortable staying in this horrible environment. We had to leave so we packed up and got out as soon as we could. When we tried to leave the same rude employee was trying to convince us to stay and offered us the room we originally booked which is so weird to do because why wouldn’t you give us our original room in the first place?!! Just a very bad experience. This place shouldn’t be open. It’s horrific. Please don’t waste your money or time here.

1 out of 5 stars (if I could leave 0 I definitely would) The moment I walked into this hotel room, I was absolutely disgusted. The bed was covered in pubes and dust balls, the walls had staples, lipstick stains, and random smudges everywhere. The floor had cracks running through it, and the curtains were literally falling off the rod. The shower was yellow and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages — it honestly looked like dried pee stains. The toilet clogged on the very first flush. On top of that, the smell was unbearable — a mix of stale cigarettes and weed lingering in the hallway and the room itself. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the TV worked, and I could watch The Flintstones while trying not to think about how dirty everything else was. I rarely leave reviews, but this place was so bad that I felt obligated to warn others. I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone unless serious renovations and cleaning are done.

Worst place I’ve ever set foot in!!!! It was dirty, damaged and noisy. They even rent out rooms per hour (you can have a good guess why) and late parties. The first night we had to call for new sheets as ours were stained and had burnt holes. The curtain didn’t even fit up to the window. We were exhausted from our travels from UK to USA and were rudely disturbed at 2am by a party next door. According to the staff this was normal behaviour and due to the staff’s incompetence to be able to do anything about the disturbance we had to vacate at 2am I’ve stayed in cleaner more appropriate hostels than here, I’ve complained and requested a refund and was rejected. Also you can’t obtain a email address to contact them directly. I’m still trying for compensation through the third party I booked it with.

I stayed at HOTEL MOCA from November 28 to December 1, 2024; it was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I stayed there because the hotel policy is don't give you your money back. From the moment I arrived, the problems began and only got worse:||Broken Facilities: The toilet flush handle broke on the first day, making the bathroom unusable. Despite reporting this issue multiple times, it wasn’t fixed until the afternoon of the second day—and it broke again the next morning.||Hygiene Issues: I found a roach near my toothbrush in the bathroom. This is completely unacceptable in any hotel.||Noise Problems: The room was not soundproof, and I endured loud TV noise from neighboring rooms throughout the night. I complained to the front desk at 3 AM, but no action was taken.||Lack of Management Support: I requested to speak with a manager about these issues, but the front desk refused to provide contact information, claiming it was private.||False Advertising: The room looked nothing like the photos on Expedia. The walls were damaged, there was no room service, and the overall state of the room was subpar.||Unsafe Environment: On two separate nights, the fire alarm in the hallway went off because of marijuana smoke from a party in a nearby room. The staff didn’t address the issue, leaving guests to fend for themselves.||I chose this hotel because it was close to my mother’s apartment, but it was a nightmare. I ended up having to buy earplugs to get some sleep.||I contacted Expedia, where I booked the hotel, but they couldn’t help because the hotel staff refused to compensate me for my many issues.||Verdict: Avoid this place at all costs! HOTEL MOCA failed to deliver even basic hospitality standards, and the staff's lack of professionalism worsened the experience. Spend your...

Mostly everything. The place was super dodgy. We could not feel any less safe in NYC. The whole place smelled of marihuana - corridors, our room, even our clothes. Of course, we read after we made our reservation that the facility was free of smoking, but we did not accept that we were living in the ashtray. We stayed there for 5 nights and every single night next to our room was some "couple" who would make love all night long. It sounds more like a hotel for hours and paid escort, than a couple in love who wanted to express their feelings to each other. The real problem with that is that our room has doors between the rooms, so you cannot keep the smell and noises isolated.

I had to give my credit card to the employee of the hotel together with a pin (card code) so he could charge us. Why? Because the machine was on the cable and the cable was too short I could not cross the front desk area to put the pin by myself.

We also had some extra locators - meaning cockroaches. The area is also not so friendly for tourists, especially after dark. Me and my partner are traveling a lot. We were staying at many places and I could easily write that we are easygoing people. Not many things and places can scare or disgust us. This place certainly did that. I never wrote any bad reviews at any facility. That is the first one, so you can imagine how bad it was. I do not recommend staying in the MOCA HOTEL. For me, that place is running on for some bad reasons. The prices are low, but not that low. For sure you can book a better and safer place in the city for a similar budget.

We were both surprised that you can find a place like...
