Great views and photo opportunities of the action going on in the harbor from both the NYC or New Jersey river banks. Constant traffic on the Hudson River by just about everything and anything that floats. If you're lucky you might catch a huge cruise ship arriving or departing, or the "Beast" ripping along at 45mph.(check my photos for the Norwegian Dawn cruise ship 8/10/19 departure on its 7 day round trip to Nassau and a video of the "Beast") As you might imagine, the harbor is best enjoyed on a...

39.5 mile paddle around Staten Island in my kayak on a beautiful late summer starting from Bayonne. These pics are 3/4 the way around. A couple miles later I was pulled over by a police boat for paddling too close to a Battleship. This could only happen in the New York Harbor. I was pleasantly surprised at the good water quality. Hope to see if I can beat 10.5...

The best part of my work commute - cross it twice a day for the last 20+ years and never get tired of it.
